UMAMI RAMEN & IZAKAYA is the very first fully vegan ramen restaurant in Montreal.
Thanks to the import of a Japanese machine for making noodles, the establishment makes its own homemade noodles from organic wheat, in addition to making its broths, Tsukemono, kombucha and sprouts! The restaurant offers several varieties of ramen and small classics of Japanese Bistronomy in a vegan version. Whether we think of okonomiyaki, gyozas, Agedashi tofu or even tempeh Tonkatsu, Cédric and his team are happy to present to you every day, from starter to dessert, these revisited Japanese classics... just a few exclusives straight out of our kitchens. And who says Izayaka, of course, says refreshing beers, sumptuous wines, intoxicating cocktails, delicate sakes and other fine wine products. At Umami Ramen, we experience cruelty-free gastronomy at its best!

Wonderful experience. All the flavors & textures were spot on, especially a big fan of the'egg' in the ramen. The soup broth was a delicious combination of tomato & mushroom & gave the full experience of Japanese ramen.
The matcha cocktail was also fantastic, it kinda falls into a dessert cocktail but I would have it anytime 🤣
Definitely would come back to try more of the menu.
A very nice cute & intimate restaurant with really good food & greater service 🎉🎉 We started with Gyoza that was beyond delicious ❤?❤? For the main course I had the Montreal sushi while my partner had Chicken dronagiri & each bite was just perfect 💕💕 To see the chefs make it in front of us was a huge delight ! For dessert we had the chocolate mousse & the cheesecake matcha & it was heavenly 🩷🩷 Cannot wait to go back & try other items in this 10/10 restaurant 😇😇
Everything was perfect! The food was great, the ambiabce felt comfortable like when you're at home & the waitress was so friendly, helping us to chose the right sake for our taste. Thanks for the great evening!
Really impressive! The service was perfect: they brought out each plate at the right moment as we finished the last. They were easily able to accommodate a peanut & tree nut allergy, apparently only sesame is present. Incredible taste & presentation. Amongst the best ramen I have ever had, even in Japan. Highly recommend.

Can't go wrong with the Tempeh Tonkatsu Ramen.
The gyozas are good too. & the edameme are amazing.
Too bad the seating is really close to each other.
For a vegan place, the food tasted great!
Bravo !
Excellent !
Mes félicitations à toute l'équipe d'Umami Ramen.
& bonnes continuations !
We've been to Umami about 3 times before. Overall their food's not bad, rich in taste but quite high in sodium so something to watch out for if you're a conscious eater. Regardless, we used to enjoy Umami on occasion.
Last visit to Umami was downright terrible. I wish there was another way to put it but there isn't. We sat down & waited for quite a while when we were limited on our time. The waitress ensured us they will be with us shortly. They took our order about 20minutes in.
We ended up waiting for yet another 50minutes. There was a couple infront of us who waited that long & were visibly bothered. They came in just a few minutes after we did. At that point we saw a group receive their order, who were there since before we arrived.
Some moments later were told they will now begin with preparing our food.
We decided to leave at that point.
Unfortunately we were not told it will be this long, nor were we offered anything during the wait as a gesture / compensation for our time. The same applied to the couple sitting across from us. Safe to say this will be our last visit as this situation was very poorly treated. They are under-staffed for their space & their service has dipped ten-fold since our last visit.
The waiting was a bit long but worth it. The food was good & the atmosphere was smooth. The waitress was very nice. You need to like tofu as meat replacement. Always debatable..,
We loved the terrasse. The food was delicious & the waitress was so friendly! Our first visit, but we will be back.
-agedashi tofu - 9/10 great
-Tantamen ramen - 9/10 great, the meaty tofu crumbles was a bit too salty tho
-yubu Tokyo ramen - great
-miso ramen - excellent
-aubergine - excellent
Fully vegan place!
