UMAMI RAMEN & IZAKAYA is the very first fully vegan ramen restaurant in Montreal.
Thanks to the import of a Japanese machine for making noodles, the establishment makes its own homemade noodles from organic wheat, in addition to making its broths, Tsukemono, kombucha and sprouts! The restaurant offers several varieties of ramen and small classics of Japanese Bistronomy in a vegan version. Whether we think of okonomiyaki, gyozas, Agedashi tofu or even tempeh Tonkatsu, Cédric and his team are happy to present to you every day, from starter to dessert, these revisited Japanese classics... just a few exclusives straight out of our kitchens. And who says Izayaka, of course, says refreshing beers, sumptuous wines, intoxicating cocktails, delicate sakes and other fine wine products. The okonomiyaki & vegan caviar were 10/10. The cocktails were also creative & delicious. We had two different ramen dishes - both were flabourful but could have used more broth. We'd come back in a heartbeat! Merci!
Très très bon restaurant vegan. Nous avons pris le menu dégustation & on as pas été déçu. Très bon drink aussi. Seul bémol, le service était un peu trop rapide pour un menu dégustation car les plats arrivent rapidement meme si on avaient pas fini. & la crème brûlée était......brûlée ce qui la rendait amer.
New discovery for me. I absolutely loved their interpretation of chashu. They're on a par with the pork belly. The place is also very cute & the rest of the food was as tasty. I'll come back for sure

6 ans plus tard depuis notre dernière visite, toujours aussi satisfait. Sophia, la gérante, a été particulièrement disponible, accueillante, intéressée & ouverte. Comme c'était notre anniversaire de couple, nous avons eu droit à un beau moment d'attention du personnel.
Tout était délicieux & raffiné. Excellent service & très bons conseils. Quelques bémols : tout était très salé, les plats auraient pu être plus chauds & le temps pour recevoir le premier plat était un peu long. Toutefois, les autres services ont suivis au bon rythme. En cette journée hivernale (-20 °C) le chauffage ne fournissait pas. Nous avons dû garder nos manteaux pendant presque tout le repas & sommes sortis les pieds gelés. Ah oui, dernier point étrange. Le menu dégustation n'était pas offert ce soir-là, sans autre explication. Ce qui n'a pas empêché la gentille serveuse de nous concocter un menu dégustation au même prix avec des propositions pertinentes.
Had the most amazing experience at Umami Montreal ✨ We tried the karaage, tofu agedashi, & the curry tempe tonkatsu everything was absolutely delicious. & the crème brûlée… genuinely out of this world.
The space is beautifully lit & has such a great atmosphere, & huge shoutout to Sauphya for taking such great care of us, it made the night even better. Can't wait to come back 🤍
Restaurant incroyable! Ça fait plusieurs fois que j'y vais & c'est toujours aussi bon. Que ce soit le menu de brunch ou le menu du soir, c'est délicieux! Le staff est super sympathique, ils expliquent bien ce que contiennent les plats & atmosphère est toujours agréable. J'ai goûté les crevettes & le steak de champignons hier & c'était vraiment bien réussi! J'y retournerai prochainement c'est certain!
Excellente nourriture. Je n'ai spécialement l'habitude de manger végan & j'ai été agréablement surpris! les entrées, la soupe & le dessert étaient tous très bon. Service satisfaisant mais manque d'employé pour le nombre de client. L'ambiance est chaleureuse, parfait pour un date ou une sortie en famille/amis. Je recommande l'expérience !
