We were seated immediately but it took over an hour to receive our food whilst multiple other patrons who came some time after us received theirs. When it came out it was good but not as good as the price tag would make you think. Tables are crammed together so you can barely breathe (think New York City apartment) & music is playing just loudly enough to interfere with your conversation & seemed to go up in volume as our time there went on.
Food can be pricey but I was really disappointed about the size portion. If I'm paying 35$ the plate I hope I won't finish it in 4 bites!
Booked a reservation & they are fairly accommodating to our group of 7 with dining upstairs & down stairs. Very aesthetic & cute for photos (lots of mirrors). There is loud music but the playlist was good. Cocktails & wines good, well priced as well. 3 courses & cocktails won't run you up a ridiculous amount.
-Food-
Appetizers: Meatballs are a little dry but seasoned very nicely & have a good taste, octopus very forgettable
Mains: The rosé rigatoni & sausage was one of the best options, good sauce but not a lot of sausage. Ragu veal pasta good but nothing extremely wow. Duck linguine had a fake bacon taste. Will not be coming back for the pastas. All dishes came out pipping hot!!!
desserts: DELICIOUS & the best part of our experience. Even if you don't traditionally like chocolate mousse, like me, i still suggest giving this one a try. The chef creates a decadent twist to this dessert & it was AMAZING. The tiramisu creme was so delicious. At the time of our visit, the dessert of the day was cheesecake. Super creamy & light, maybe just missing a couli.
-Service-
The food runners seemed very young &
confused, not dressed well, & basically slammed the plates on the table. Water was very scarce & wasn't refilled. Old plates stayed on the table even if second courses had come. Wine glasses weren't very shiny & unused ones weren't cleared from the table even if we didn't have much space. Minimal knowledge of the menu. We were not informed of any last calls for the bar & couldn't order more. They were definitely pushing for us to pay quickly & leave even if we hadn't ordered dessert yet. The waiter was still sweet all things considered.
We had to wait 1 hour for the food to come. I had the duck carbonara & a four cheese pizza. The portion to price ratio was laughable. I could understand if at least the quality would match the price, but no. The food was really bland. No salt at all,I felt like I could find more flavorful italien food at domino's. In short, avoid!
Pizza was forgotten on a table of 8. They cooked it asap, but it came undercook, had to recook it. Otherwise food was good & table d'hôte price is really decent!
With the affordable price 100$ for 2 person with 3 drinks 1 pizza for share & 2 meals of pasta. The food is ok, good to try something new, but not'wow'
Our server was wonderful but that's about it. Portion sizes are quite small for the price & plating was subpar. Waited almost 2 hours for the main dish. Overall, disappointing
Tiamo is a great choice if you're craving well-prepared Italian cuisine, especially wood-fired pizzas & classic pastas, in a warm, chic atmosphere. Perfect for date nights, family dinners, or weekend brunch. For larger groups, consider booking in advance & be aware of plate size expectations.

🔧 Tips Before You Go
• Book in advance, especially for dinner; brunch is walk-in only.
• Go for the pizzas, which are freshly fried daily.
• Some dishes may be standard sized for the price - sharing is smart.
• Check out their extensive wine list & cocktail menu at the bar.
We just went there with my family to celebrate my wife's birthday. It is a hidden gem. I was not expecting the service & food to be this good. Our waitress was amazing & she was always around but like bothering too much amount. She gave suggestions. We ordered octopus, al ragu, Alfredo & for the kids cheese pizza (custom made since it is not on the menu). Everyone liked their food. Waitress suggested a mocktail for my wife for her birthday & she really liked it. The octopus was the best I have ever had & I am from Turkey so I know what I am talking about. Pasta was cooked perfectly. They also surprised us with a birthday dessert & sang happy birthday to us. We really felt special at this place. I don't know why some people say the portions are too small. I think it was perfect. The place is not actually for kids but they accommodated them perfectly not like some of fine dining restaurants where you feel that as a family that you are not welcome. The atmosphere was good. It was not cold or hot. The music was not too noisy so we cannot hear ourselves. Basically, I can recommend this place for dates or even for small family celebrations. The price is OK, I would not say it is cheap but compared to some other restaurants around they were reasonably priced.
We wanted to try a new Italian restaurant & the pictures online looked great . The age group was very very young . ( teens going out on dates , & groups ). Service was great . Our waitress was sweet & attentive . Everything was correct & fast . The food was a real disappointment . I ordered the grilled octopus for appetizer . It was over cooked & rubbery . Lacked flavor & it came sitting on way too much potato salad , that had no effort or imagination put into it . My main course was cavatelli al ragu. Very simple. Bland . Nothing special for the price . My friends ordered each a pizza . Other than the dough being under done , it was ok . They would have sent it back so they can put it back in the oven for a few more minutes . But time was not on our side that day . But excellent service . Too bad the food needs personality & refinement.
Tiamo was disappointing. The atmosphere & food were actually quite nice. It has a very chic, elegant vibe when you walk in.
The reason why I'd give it 2 stars, though, was because of two things. One, the portion sized were just way too small for the price that I was paying. & two, the service was absolutely terrible.
After ordering an appetizer & a main, I expected to be quite full. But I was actually still hungry. This, to me, indicates that the portion sizes were just not that large.
The service seemed okay at the beginning. Gave recommendations & took our orders fine. But by the end of the meal, everyone only had one glass of water. A small group came in, too, & was waiting to be seated only to look around & find nobody. No one was there to seat them, nor to give us water.
Overall, I won't be coming back. I expect to be treated better for that price.
Reserved for a birthday dinner. Atmosphere & service were amazing & food was good, portions could be bigger for the price range. Cocktails were good. The only thing is the place is very tight especially for big groups but other than that I would definitely come back.
EDIT: The owner was very kind & reached out. I received a refund which was very appreciated. Thank hou for making it right. Unfortunately we were pretty disappointed with our time here tonight from the prices, to the food & the service. We got the fettuccini Alfredo which was extremely small for $25, tasted bland & was not creamy, however the pizza I had tasted good. Now the drink prices were a shock for us. $5 for the tiniest cup of coca cola & $12 for a Shirley temple (which is just sprite snd grenadine). So essentially we were charged $7 for a tiny squirt of grenadine?! We also got two so $24 but would have never even gotten one if we knew the price would be outrageous. Lastly the service was slow. It took about 30 minutes to get our bill & the place isn't big so not very busy so unsure why it took that long. It also took awhile to get the second Shirley temple & by time we received it we were already done eating. Safe to say we left unhappy & felt like our money was wasted :(
This restaurant is a nicely decorated where a lot of people come for birthdays. But it is more style than substance. The food & cocktails are average, especially considering the price. The portions are very uneven as well. The pizzas are huge but the pasta plates quite small. The ceasar is nothing special, the bolognese was decent but needed salt. Portion was small. Cannoli was excellent. Cocktail was very light in flavor. If you are 10+ you only get the group menu, which app, plate & dessert for $55. It's is a smaller menu. A very important point for comfort. Because of the wood fired oven, it is very very hot inside the restaurant. Our group had trouble enjoying our meal because of the heat. Needs to be fixed.
Food was good, the mains were great but the pizza was mediocre. Service was slow, & chaotic. Some tables were offered complimentary bread, ours wasn't. We waited long times for the appetizers & then a long time after the appetizers were finished to get our mains. Very pricey
The place is dirty: floor sticky, bench dusty, gums under the tables. Food is ok but not the quality/price.
The service was impeccable, the staff really went above to respond to our many requests & to make us feel comfortable. That being said, the food was a tad warm/cool upon arrival & a bit mid in portion & flavour. For a price point slightly above your run of the mill pasta place ($25-30 a plate instead of $15-20), we expected above-average taste. Overall a great experience.
People 4. After we were seated it took 30min for us to receive our first drinks. Then waiter spilled beer on me & the table (accident) but then took him 15 min to come back with a towel to wipe down the table... After we ordered a second round we waited & waited & waited then we ordered our food & our food took forever, realized that people who came after us were eating before us, service to our table was almost non existent. Food was subpar. Ordered the octopus entree, & it was literally 2 small tentacles & a mountain of potato salad. Not worth the price at all. Wont be going back again. Just to give some depth, we were seated at 8:45 we didnt eat until 10:30
Super cool vibes, fabulous service (my glass was always refilled before I noticed it had emptied!) & yummy food. We had a few pizzas to share, & they were a great size for the price & delicious. Would definitely go back.
100% recommend this place! Great food at reasonable prices, good drinks & amazing staff.
