We visited Tiamo on a weekday evening. Our first impression was positive. The hostess was welcoming & proactive in finding us a table despite our spontaneous visit.
However, service was quite slow. We waited nearly 30 minutes before seeing our server, which felt unusually long & had us considering leaving. Fortunately, we were attended to shortly after.
We ordered the Italian sausage pizza & the Mediterranean pizza. The dough was well-made & met expectations, but the overall experience was mixed. One pizza was enjoyable, while the other was let down by a canned-tasting tomato sauce that lacked depth & flavor.
The ambiance & decor are beautiful, though the space is quite small with tables placed close together. In the evening, the music was fairly loud although still manageable for conversation, but not ideal. The staff interactions felt somewhat robotic & transactional, which took away from the overall experience.
Overall, I likely wouldn't return for dinner, but I'd consider giving it another try during the afternoon. So who would I bring to Tiamo? A casual friend.
Walked in at 530pm with no reservation. Informed many reservations arriving shortly so would need to be seated downstairs. We were taken to a table in the middle of the room with no one other seated table around us. Actually no other customers in the restaurant. It remained that way for our entire meal. The server for our table was lovely but the man that seated us made us feel unwelcome.
The food was mediocre.
Overall experience was meh for $150
Went for my girlfriends birthday & got reservations. We were seated immediately but it took over an hour to receive our food whilst multiple other patrons who came some time after us received theirs. When it came out it was good but not as good as the price tag would make you think. Tables are crammed together so you can barely breathe (think New York City apartment) & music is playing just loudly enough to interfere with your conversation & seemed to go up in volume as our time there went on.
Sofiane is the best chef & he makes the best pizza in montreal by far
The burrata pizza is one of the best if not the best i've ever eaten
The pasta was delicious
& the bri fondant entree was delicious as well
service was impeccable

Food can be pricey but I was really disappointed about the size portion. If I'm paying 35$ the plate I hope I won't finish it in 4 bites!
Food was plain & tasteless, but I loved my cocktail. Service was also friendly, fast, & attentive to customer's needs.

The food was good at tiamos, specifically the pizza & the atmosphere was cool but I was hardly able to view anything at all as we were sat at a window bar seat looking out to the street with an uncomfortable heater underneath. I understand it was busy but I did make a reservation & asked not to sit at a bar top which it practically was.
I was very disappointed with the service on top of this. We were greeted not very welcomingly & had around 3 different servers who weren't concerned about how we were enjoying our food. Overall, wouldn't return because of the service.
Une soirée de la Saint-Valentin mitigée. Nous avions une réservation à 19h, le restaurant était plein & nous avons dû attendre plus de 20 minutes pour qu'on nous libère une table. Le menu de la Saint-Valentin était moyen mais copieux. La musique était très forte, ce qui obligeait à parler fort pour s'entendre & créait encore plus de bruit. Il y a eu une malheureuse coupure de courant qui a duré 10 minutes. Le service était plutôt agréable mais absent. Nous sommes restés plus de 3 heures à table en attendant énormément de temps entre les plats. Certes, ils n'ont pas été aidés par la coupure de courant, mais avant même cela, on sentait déjà une mauvaise organisation. De plus, ayant payé la table via OpenTable avec un pourboire de 20 %, je m'attendais à quelque chose de meilleur en salle. Les deux cocktails pris en dehors du menu nous ont coûté 50 $… Je trouve ça complètement dingue !
Nous avions une réservation à 19h pour la Saint-Valentin & nous avons reçu notre première entrée seulement vers 21h15. Un délai aussi long est difficilement acceptable, surtout pour une soirée aussi attendue.
Il semblait y avoir un manque d'organisation évident, puisque le service variait considérablement d'une table à l'autre. De plus, le pourboire automatique de 20 % était déjà facturé, ce qui rend l'expérience encore plus décevante compte tenu de la qualité du service reçu.
Par ailleurs, l'ambiance sonore n'était pas adaptée à l'occasion : la musique était trop forte & peu appropriée pour une soirée romantique, ce qui nuisait aux échanges & au confort.
C'est d'autant plus dommage que les plats étaient excellents. Malheureusement, le service & l'ambiance n'ont pas été à la hauteur de la cuisine.
My husband & I had a great experience. We had Valentine Day reservations & we really enjoyed the experience. The food was amazing, very nice presentation, large portions & very tasty. Our server Bianca was also amazing. Would highly recommend & will definitely be back.
L'hotesse à la réception ne parle pas français: j'ai dit bonjour & annoncé le nom de la réservation en premier, elle m'a répondue en anglais & a poursuivie avec l'anglais jusqu'à notre table. C'est un manque de respect.
La serveuse nous a servi gentiement & poliement en français.
La nourriture est'correcte' mais pour le prix (200$ pour 4 services) c'est plutôt ordinaire: crevettes trop cuites & sèches, la salade était sèche & sans saveur (3 gouttes de balsamiques). Le seul plat qui se démarquait était le brie fondant sur la pâte à pizza (délicieuse).
Pour le menu St-Valentin (obligatoire le 14) on devait payer à l'avance au moment de réserver avec le pourboire (20%!) automatiquement inclus!! Je me demande à quel point cela est légal. Jamais vécu cela dans aucun restaurant même les plus raffinés, au Québec.
