Terrasse Belvu Hors-Piste is described as a lively downtown terrace with a beautiful view, great cocktails, and a warm, inviting vibe, though experiences vary by night. Reviews frequently praise the ambiance, the stylish décor, and the quality of drinks and food, with the terrace named as a standout spot for dates, group gatherings, or corporate events, especially when the weather is favorable or a DJ is present. Service is often highlighted as friendly and attentive, with many guests noting thoughtful touches and strong recommendations, while a few experiences point to slow or uneven service and higher prices that some feel are tied to the location. The terrace is repeatedly commended for its location atop a hotel near old Montreal, offering a memorable setting whether day or night, and many visitors express a desire to return.
Coworkers & I came here for drinks a couple of times during the week. Very limited beer selection & the music is super loud. Food is very expensive ($30 for a hot dog). The staff are friendly enough. The decor is undermined by how hard the restaurant is simping for Heineken.
I arrived for my reservation at 1:15 PM & was seated at a great table with a beautiful view - perfect for enjoying the weather. We waited for the last guest to arrive at 1:40 PM & placed our drink order immediately. Unfortunately, the drinks didn't arrive until 2:30 PM. For a table of three, a nearly one-hour wait for drinks was disappointing.
On a positive note, the food arrived quicker than the drinks & was delicious. I highly recommend the lamb or the burger-both were flavorful & satisfying. The chicken bowl we ordered as a starter was also excellent. However, the sweet potato fries were not fresh, which was a letdown.
Overall, I'd rate the experience 3.5 out of 5. If you're visiting on a sunny day, I suggest requesting a shaded table or one with a working umbrella, as the heat can become quite uncomfortable. The vibe was elevated by great house music, which gave off a Tulum-like atmosphere.
Terrasse Belvu at the Marriott is truly one of the best spots in downtown Montreal! The ambiance is perfect, with great music that complements the relaxing atmosphere. The octopus salad is a standout dish - an absolute must-try, bursting with flavor & perfectly prepared. The salmon sashimi was also delicious & incredibly fresh, & the Caesar salad was a delightful addition. The staff are not only friendly but also attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're looking for a special night out, Terrasse Belvu is highly recommended for its exceptional food & inviting setting! Highly recommended.
Great spot for drinks & bites! Jeremy was our waiter & took great care of us. He was quick & friendly. The music was really good too. I recommend the truffle fries. They were delicious!
I would recommend it to always make reservations ahead. Overall, great music & drinks are great. The food was delicious & it had flavor. It gets packed easily after 5:00 PM. If there's no more room you can be at the bar or just wait 10-15 minutes. Vanessa at the bar made good drinks I recommend her when you see her. Thank you for everything.
Amazing place in the Marriott Champlain (but also accessible to those not staying in the hotel). Great vibe, amazing music, excellent food. Not cheap but worth it.

Terrasse Belvu offers a delightful ambiance with a stunning view that truly enhances the dining experience. The music selection is great, though it can be a bit loud at the tables near the DJ, making conversation a bit challenging. I highly recommend making a reservation beforehand, especially on beautiful days, as it gets quite busy. The prices are reasonable, & the service provided by the friendly servers is excellent. We ordered the seafood platter to share & a couple of cocktails. The platter was delicious but not quite filling, so I'd suggest ordering an additional dish if you're looking for a more substantial meal. Overall, Terrasse Belvu is a fantastic spot for a pleasant meal with great scenery, but plan ahead & maybe sit a bit further from the DJ for a more comfortable conversation.
Awesome music, nice vibe. Good food. Just the person who sat us down was rude but the main server was awesome. My drink & my friends burger had long hairs in them. _____ 1 star, the person who sat us down was rude. Will ad more stars depending on the rest if the night
We went to the terrace to enjoy the nice weather & have cocktails. However, the receptionist at the entrance killed the mood with her unpleasant attitude. She seated us at a bar table in the corner of the terrace. We kindly asked another waiter if we could have a regular table (not a bar table). He found us a nice spot, but then the receptionist came back to us with an annoyed expression, & asked,'Who gave you this table, & why did you move?' She was very rude. Also, she said that the table was'booked.' even though there were plenty of empty tables available. We were a party of 2 & had made a reservation. The staff's explanation didn't make any sense that our reservation for the table wasn't guaranteed, yet it was supposedly guaranteed for others. Service needs to be improved. On a positive note, the cocktails were great. I really enjoyed Belvue cocktail, dj & music. The waiter who served us was very nice :)
