The atmosphere was so cozy; live piano the entire time. The staff was friendly & efficient. But best of all, the food was fantastic! I really enjoyed their tasting platter as well as the beef stroganov. I also really loved their pierogi with beef! I absolutely loved my experience & will recommend to anyone who is looking to try Eastern European food!
Wow wow wow. As someone from Kraków who cooks a lot of polish meals at home, I can definitely say this restaurant is extremely authentic. We were blown away by the quality & spot on authenticity of it. We ordered the zupa ogórkowa (pickle soup), barszcz (beet soup), krokiety (mushroom croquettes), pierogi ruskie (potato pierogis) & the szarlotka (Apple crumble pie). While everything was delicious & traditionally presented, the pierogi & szarlotka were our favorites. The pierogis were plump with great potato quality & not heavy on dough. You can def tell they were handmade. Every bite the potatoes melted in your mouth & you can taste the butter & onions. So good! Now the szarlotka. We never order dessert but based on how authentic everything else was, I could not resist trying this traditional apple dessert. Let me tell you, not only did it not disappoint but very much exceeded our expectations. It was served perfectly chilled, & you can taste both the sweet & tartness of the apple. & the fresh cream on top was so insanely delicious. We practically licked the plate. & don't skip on the cocktails! We also had the szarlotka cocktail which was served with Zubrowka vodka (our fave), apple juice & a splash of lemon. Served with a little bit of cinnamon & sugar on the rim. Wow oh wow. Refreshing & complex, what an amazing cocktail. Will def be trying to recreate at home but if not, just another excuse to visit this restaurant. Definitely don't skip this spot. If you want to try authentic polish food, this is the place! Enjoy it with the live piano player who is there most week night. Na zdrowie!
Beat polish restaurant in montreal. Live piano during the night great food & a great atmosphere. Staff are great also. Will definitely be coming back. The pierogis were as good as my grandma's
Our favorite Polish restaurant on either side of the border. We discovered this delicious place on an anniversary trip in 2016 to see Patrick Watson in concert. Have been talking about Stash Cafe food since. Finally returned this weekend for my birthday dinner. Love, love, love the food & atmosphere. I highly recommend anything on the menu, but especially the mushroom pierogi. We also enjoyed the live piano music in the background.
An absolute European gem in the Old Port. The staff is lovely, the pianist is fantastic, the place is cozy, even the path to the washroom is charming. The barszcz, cabbage rolls, schnitzels, krokiety, & pierogi are great, but the star is the placki for me. The desserts are a must-try, both the apple crumble & the cheese filled crepe! However, be warned that there are not many choices for vegetarians.
You write that you are a restaurant of Polish cuisine. I chose between Borscht & Zhurek, I chose Zhurek (because I can cook Borscht myself). What can I say about your Zhurek - people, don't be lazy & don't deceive others, because it's not Zhurek, but just coloured water with sausages. & where are the eggs & mushrooms? Some even serve it with mashed potatoes (it's a bomb!). The Poles treated me to Zhurek & I was delighted. & many people know that Polish cuisine is quite hearty, saturated with mega large portions. It's scary to imagine, but at the same time it's interesting, what kind of Ukrainian Borscht do you have? I also ordered dumplings (Pierogi), mix. I must note that the dumplings (Pierogi) were delicious.

I really liked the romantic & intimate vibe of this place. We visited it when there was a live piano music. Unfortunately can't say it was the best service or the best food. We didn't had a reservation & waiters tried to harry us up all the time. & food came cold & was a bit disappointed with golubci ( spring rolls) & borscht. But probably would like to go back one day because pierogi which my friend ordered was not bad at all & choice in menu is decent
Merveilleuse surprise, tres bon acceuil, & les plats sont délicieux. Je recommande particulièrement les pierogis. Je reviendrai c est certain!
I have dîned here multiple times. Celebrated my birthday here. My best expérience with Polish food. I love their pierogis & their deer cutlet dish. Highly recommended !
I have only amazing things to say about this place. Hands down one of the best eating experiences I've ever had; we were sat in a cozy window during a snowstorm. The pink lights set such a warm ambience & the live piano player (who played NIRVANA!!) just added to the lovely time spent here. & the food was incredible - I have never throughly enjoyed a meal like I did here. We ordered placki for our appetizer, which were the right amount of crisp & delicious needed for potato pancakes with excellent sour cream on the side. For our meals we split the beef pierogi, classic cheese & potato, & a dish of kielbasa with boiled potatoes & homemade, warm sauerkraut. We ended the meal with a cappuccino & their peach cobbler with sweet cream. Simply an amazing, delicious time spent here. I highly recommend to anyone.
The food is very authentic & good. Pierogis are excellent, would prefer the kielbasa was a whole sausage & not pre-sliced, but it was still amazing. The ambiance is next level good. Don't miss this spot.
Pierogi was nothing special. Just perogis. The sznycel was not good at all. The meat was tough & chewy, the coating was not crispy, & it was falling apart from the meat. Also, there were some parts that was just coating without meat. Beer that we ordered came after the dish after we reminded them. I do not recommend this place.
Definitely a welcome surprise to find such good polish food in this part of Montréal! So glad we meandered in for a late lunch. Pierogi & kielbasa were very good!
Incredible polish eats, just like Baba made! My husband & I wanted to try as much of the menu as possible so he ordered the Debutant, which consist of an assortment of polish dishes & I had Golabki (cabage rolls). Pierogi must be included at some point of your meal as their fabulous👌 I can't wait to go back to try their dill pickle soup amd brunch. Curie-tini cocktail proves that vodka & pickle is a winning combination. Service was courteous & super fast. Prices are incredibly reasonable. Will definitely be back!
