fresh(116) cash(98) sesame(86) oven(48) cheese(45) shop(41) dozen(28) recommend(26) classic(26) flavor(24) atm(24) authentic(23)I entered the mecca of the Montreal bagel, & must admit it is an acquired taste. I remain a NY bagel snob. Locals will likely debate me on this, they appear quite passionate about their place & its product.
The best bagels I've ever had! Definitely worth a try. Just a heads-up-you'll need cash, but there's an ATM inside if you need it.
This is hands down the best bagel in the world-you absolutely have to try it! The taste reminded me of the traditional bread you'd find in old Jerusalem, rich with flavor & authenticity. I even brought some back to Toronto & paired them with my Tim Hortons coffee, & let me tell you, it was the ultimate combination. A must-try for any bagel lover!
First time trying Montreal bagels. We got a half dozen. They were fresh out of the oven & so tasty even without cream cheese.
As a New Yorker surrounded by incredible bagel options, I have high standards when it comes to bagels. In fact, bagels are one of my all-time favorite food. if I had to pick one thing to eat for the rest of my life (with all the sandwich fixings, breakfast variations, or pizza bagels), it would be bagels! So, I was beyond excited to try Montréal bagels in their home city. I started with a blueberry bagel, which I devoured plain, no cream cheese, no butter, just the bagel itself. & let me tell you, it was heavenly. Sweet, dense, moist, it was perfect on its own. I could never enjoy a New York bagel without toppings with the same reaction. Later, I tried an everything Montréal bagel as the base for a breakfast sandwich (at another restaurant), & while it was delicious, I have to admit-nothing beats a New York everything bagel for sandwiches. So, are Montréal bagels better than New York bagels? My answer: yes & no. For eating plain, the blueberry (& I'd image any sweet bagel) a Montréal bagel was unmatched. But for sandwiches, New York bagels still holds my heart. That said, Montréal bagels from here deserve all the praise-they're so flavorful, & absolutely worth a visit. I took a half-dozen blueberry bagels home with me because I just couldn't get enough. 5 stars all around!
The best bagel shop in Montreal, I've been going here since I was a little girl, friendly staff, warm & inviting the bagels are sooooo delicious
Sesame Bagel was the best! I would suggest to try different bagels as well.
Like the place & the bagel I was a tourist & don't speak french & didn't know the ONLY ACCEPT CASH! Could be friendlie
A classic for a reason, traditionnel was everything you could want in a bagel
Always busy & bring cash! Definitely my favourite bagels in montreal & we were able to get them fresh from the oven which is the way to go. that extra bit of heat just puts them over the top! 100% worth checking out if you are in montreal. It is also on a street with lots of other shops, restaurants & cafes so a really great place to walk around & enjoy your bagels
