It really lived up to its name. The aroma when you entered the place is really amazing. The bagels are so fresh 😍 & flavourful. The sesame one is best 👌 but other than that onion & maple were perfect too.
The dips there were amazing too. I tried the avacado ones & definitely go back to get them.
Definitely worth 👌 the hype..
Good bagel! I appreciate how efficient the team members kept the long line. Sesame bagel was yummy- crispy & crunchy on the outside (maybe one minute too toasty for my liking), & chewy on the inside. Chives spread was nice. Iced tea was good, but I wish I asked for an unsweetened version because it was too sweet & over powered the taste of tea. My husband enjoyed his everything bagel le steak sandwich. Overall, a solid start to the day, but honestly if we had known they were cash only before & had seen another bagel place that accepted card, we probably would have pivoted there.
Best MTL bagels! The original location has the most variety, so if you're looking to bring some home definitely hit this location!
Staff is very friendly - Joey was super helpful & welcoming! Will be coming back when I get the chance :)
Bring cash - Cash only!!
best bagels in North America - coming from someone who grew up in Brooklyn
Phenomenal bagels! As one of the original Montreal-style bagel shops, St. Viateur Bagel & Cafe is a must-see for folks who enjoy a good bagel (or really any carb). The bagels are served piping hot & have the slightly sweet flavor so core to the Montreal-style bagel. They're quite a bit lighter & airier vs. the New York-style bagel, which I appreciate, & they're great with a sandwich, cream cheese, or just on their own. I tried their sesame bagel, & it was completely covered in sesame seeds. It's also really fun that you can see their whole operation from the cash register -- the kitchen is totally open, so you can see the staff mix the batter, shape the bagels, & pop them in the oven.
A classic in town. Grab it hot baked, take away a pack with varied tastes, & enjoy it all with a to-go cup of coffee from any nearby shop!
Classic, doesn't need explanation. Haven't tried everything however, so I will be back!
Everybody has their favorite Bagel in Montreal. After tasting so many over the years, St-Viateur is consistently my personal favorite. Always love that nostalgic feeling walking in!
A must do while visiting Montreal. We tried the plain, sesame, onion & cinnamon raisin bagels. Would recommend buying cream cheese onsite to complement the bagels. Limited standing area to eat onsite & parking can be difficult.
Nice atmosphere.
It is obvious that the place has been touched by all this kind of publicity.
Tasted a) the plain, b) all seeds, c) poppyseed, d) onion. I tasted them as they were & with cheese-ham.
They were pretty nice.
Now.. comparing it with the NYC… tough call. But.. i think i will go with the NYC.
Nevertheless nice flavors, cut the too much social activity.
