The place is legend for a reason. I have yet to eat a better smoke meat sandwich. Pro Tip, if the line at the restaurant is to long go next door, buy one to go & go sit in a park.

Schwartz's Deli is part of Montréal's story, & no restaurant achieves that status without having something really special to offer. I've been to several smoked meat joints & Schwartz hands down has the most tender meat cuts. The bread, the mustard & crunchy pickles join the party to enhance the sandwich, but it's the meat that definitely steals the show. If you're in Montréal, you must drop by Schwartz at least once & you'll know what I'm talking about.

We had a lot of trouble finding it there was absolutely no parking available, & our friend kept driving around until we finally managed to get a spot. The food wasn't very smoky, & it wasn't anything new or special. We paid about 60 dollars for 3 sandwiches, along with two sodas. However, the staff were very nice

If you never been here, your loss. Staple of Montreal gastronomy. The only place where smoke is good for you as long as it is preceded by meat. Sometimes the lineup goes down the street, so be prepared to wait on busy days. They never disappoint.

Schwartz's is a place you must go to when in Montreal! It's absolutely worth the wait to get in. Very cool atmosphere & the most incredible smoked meat sandwich. It was our second time here & we will be back in the future!!

Schwartz is worth the visit. The food was absolutely delicious, the cost our meal & some meat to go was over $100 with a tip. With the cost of beef in 2026 I'm not going to complain about the cost of our meal because it was worth every penny.

We chose to go early before the lunch rush & sit at the counter instead of a table. The fellas working there were a riot. The banter between them all was worth the price of the meal alone. They told us some fun facts we did not know about the place & one of the guys had worked there on & off for 27 years & how he now only works one day a week as he works as an Electrician during the week (& a male stripper by night as claimed by his coworkers)

I see a few complaints about the atmosphere, we really enjoyed it & I'm someone that cannot stand busy, tight spaces. I feel like the old & outdated space is part of the charm of a place that is almost 100 years old.

I am so disappointed by Schwarts......it's not what it used to be at all....Smoke meat was sliced thick.it was not medium like I asked...My wife refuses to go there.....I should listen to her.....everytime I go back, I keep being disappointed......I am not going back again.....no more Schwartz for me.......
