If you like smoked meat, you're going to love this place. It's some of the best I've ever had.

The sandwich is almost impossible to eat because it's packed with so much delicious meat that it's falling apart. Personally, I'd recommend ordering the meat by weight & eating it with a fork. Mixing this incredible meat with bread & all the other toppings just takes away from what makes it special.

The smoked meat is the reason to come here. It's absolutely finger-licking good.

Visited this restaurant for the 1st time & the food was very delicious. We ordered a smoked meat poutine & a smoked meat sandwich. It was very filling, but worth the price. Will definitely recommend visiting this place if you're visiting Montreal. It is a place you won't want to miss. Shoutout to all the staff who work here, they did an amazing job 👏 👏👏👏👌👌👌🙌🙌🙌

Schwartz's Deli is part of Montréal's story, & no restaurant achieves that status without having something really special to offer. I've been to several smoked meat joints & Schwartz hands down has the most tender meat cuts. The bread, the mustard & crunchy pickles join the party to enhance the sandwich, but it's the meat that definitely steals the show. If you're in Montréal, you must drop by Schwartz at least once & you'll know what I'm talking about.

Schwartz is worth the visit. The food was absolutely delicious, the cost our meal & some meat to go was over $100 with a tip. With the cost of beef in 2026 I'm not going to complain about the cost of our meal because it was worth every penny.

We chose to go early before the lunch rush & sit at the counter instead of a table. The fellas working there were a riot. The banter between them all was worth the price of the meal alone. They told us some fun facts we did not know about the place & one of the guys had worked there on & off for 27 years & how he now only works one day a week as he works as an Electrician during the week (& a male stripper by night as claimed by his coworkers)

I see a few complaints about the atmosphere, we really enjoyed it & I'm someone that cannot stand busy, tight spaces. I feel like the old & outdated space is part of the charm of a place that is almost 100 years old.

Super fast take out line. We took our sandwiches to Mont Royal park to eat. Got a smoked meat sandwich, a pickle & sprite. They were DELICIOUS. Must eat here if you're visiting Montreal.
