Across reviews, Sapa in Montreal is praised as a reliable vegetarian Vietnamese spot with authentic flavors, generous portions and affordable prices. The menu shines with vegan and vegetarian staples such as banh mi, bun hue, bun mam and papaya salad, described as fresh, flavorful and comforting with richly seasoned broths. The staff and atmosphere are repeatedly highlighted as warm and welcoming, with friendly service in a cozy space, and takeout and vegan dessert options add to the appeal. While a few notes mention some dishes as average, the overall impression is of a go to place for seriously good plant based Vietnamese cooking that appeals to vegetarians and non vegetarians alike.
Amazing food, portions & quality are incredible, especially for the price. Service is always great, such a cozy & welcoming atmosphere. Must try in Montreal!
I am still a bit skeptical of vegan food but this place is awesome!! Their vegan beef bánh mì is one of my favourites. The owners are very friendly & welcoming too!
This is one of my go-to places, the food is always incredible! Everyone I bring is always impressed. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is very friendly.
This place is so amazing! Went twice now. Tried both the Bun Hue & Bun Mam, the papaya salad & my husband had the banh mi. Super delicious!! So far the Bun Mam is my favorite!
We also had their homemade vegan ice cream (Pina Colada & Corossol) & it was so delicious! The really nice man who served us also let us try the lychee, coconut & mango.
The restaurant is snug but cute! They have this really pretty wall of photos of their guests! The waiters/owners are super nice & all in all have a very welcoming vibe.

Torn on how to rate this. They're very friendly & the food is fine, but this is such a bang average Viet veggie place - I feel like I've eaten at places exactly like this fifty times in other cities. On the one hand the food is good (because Vietnamese IMO is a top three cuisine on the planet), but on the other hand as Viet tofu shops go it's whatever. If this were in Saskatoon I'd give it five stars, but in Montreal there's too much else to try. Sorry guys! No shade at all
Absolutely phenomenal vegetarian/vegan soup - hands down the best in town! This place goes way beyond the typical clear broth with sad pieces of broccoli & carrot. Every bowl here is absolutely packed with flavour, mock meats, hearty vegetables, & satisfying noodles. You can tell real care goes into crafting each soup, with layers of seasoning & richness you rarely find in plant-based broths. The Bún Hu? is a standout - bold, spicy, aromatic, & deeply comforting.
If you're vegetarian, vegan, or just someone who appreciates a seriously good soup, this spot is a must!
