everything about this place…10/10! my boyfriend took me here for my birthday & everything was absolutely phenomenal!!!! From the food, the ambiance, the service (shoutout Tom, who was the literal BEST!) & everything else in between. I love it here.
my biggest food recommendations are the Sashimi, Duck & tartare + their cocktails of course.

Ambiance très cozy, la musique est vraiment goovy c'est agréable. Nous avons pris le bol de sashimi avec le riz en dessous & tout était très frais. Le poulet était super bon!! Par contre, nous avions commandé les udons & avons reçu les ramens à la place (petite erreur du serveur), mais nous avons décidé de le garder, car nous étions curieux autant d'y gouter. Un peu déçu, ce n'est pas un goût qui plait à tous. Je trouvais que c'était un peu lourd & qu'après quelques bouchées on se tannait. Bref peut-être juste des goûts auxquels nous étions pas habitués, mais pas un plat que je reprendrais personnellement.
i know this rating is harsh but trust me when i say it hurts to say this. i'm writing this review really as a plea that i hope will reach management. sans soleil is the only club i know of that i can go to on any night of the week, without ever checking who's mixing & rest assured the music will be immaculate. if you take away anything from this review, let it be that while the venue itself is a 3/5, the music, sound system & the CURATION & STANDARD of music is a 3/3.
that being said, i think this is one club that could seriously benefit from a stricter set of house rules that most clubs in bigger cities have:
1. no phones on the dance floor
2. please leave the dance floor to those who actually want to dance. ie: the dancefloor is just for dancing, not chatting, not standing still... especially at the front of the booth.
i can always understand lacking space when everybody's having fun, but what instantly kills the mood is to not have enough space to dance when 40% of the dance floor are people who are standing still. all this while the backroom, a space seemingly designed to host conversation... is empty. we all know the space is small & intimate, but i do think there is room for everyone to enjoy themselves & be respectful of the music & eachothers' space.
maybe that room could benefit from a louder sound system & slightly dimmer lits for the shyer folks of the club?

L'ambiance pour le souper est parfaite pour une date night: lumière tamisée, atmosphère intime & tables rapprochées qui créent une belle proximité. Le staff est incroyable : super sympathique, connaît très bien le menu & est toujours prêt à répondre à nos questions ou même à aller chercher l'information au besoin.
La nourriture est excellente, j'en prendrais des portions plus grosses tellement c'est bon ! & les cocktails sont tout simplement délicieux.
Je recommande aussi de rester jusqu'à la partie danse, l'ambiance devient plus festive & ça complète parfaitement la soirée.
Très bonne place pour manger ou boire un verre !! Les plats sont très bons & le service est vraiment top ! Merci pour la petite attention & bravo au Dj sur vinyles ! On reviendra c'est sur 🕺🏽

Decadent speak-easy with glamorous basement vibes, replete with DJ, vinyl, candle lit tables, & mysterious bourgeois style. Warm staff with can-do attitude & a twinkle in their eyes. House cocktails are whimsically elegant & happily bold. Couples & groups making music with their talk. Stumbled into the cool crowd.
Had a fabulous time at Sans Soleil with my friend last night. We tried getting a reservation at Fleurs & Cadeaux but we are so glad things happened the way they did because Sans Soleil was a much better vibe. There was a dj playing vinyl records & it was almost a speakeasy vibe. The food is incredible!! We will be coming here again for a meal in the future. 10/10 recommend
I have been going to Sans Soleil for years. It remains one of my favourite places. The team is always welcoming, the food is always very good, & the DJ sets make for memorable close to the night. Thank you, Sans Soleil.
Had a great time with a few friends, & had the best server, Gray. He was extremely attentive & funny, fitting into the vibe of our group & the overall intimate surrounding of the place. As an added bonus, the bottom floor turned into a dance floor around 22:00. Would go again & a highlight of our trip!
Sans Soliel.... phew where do I even begin. The ambiance was lively yet relaxed & made for one of the best outings I've had in a while! I suggest reserving a table with a few friends & working your way through their EXQUISITE food & drink offerings... the shashimi is a must! We had a very kind & knowledgeable server named Gray, who's presence was a welcome extension of the warmth Montreal has to offer even during such frigid temperatures. My experience would not have been the same without them! After 9:45 the space turned into a dance floor; PRO-V was the DJ the night we went & I loved the 90s hip-hop/ r&b vibes provided. Sans Soliel is definitely 10/10 & worth a visit!
What a delightful place & the food was absolutely amazing. My only small pickle is how small the tables & stools were. It was a bit snug with winter attire, but will worth it
Have been here many times to dance - is one of my favourite places for that. Recently tried the dining experience there & adored the food & ambiance. & the service was out of this world! Sometimes good cocktails are hard to find in mtl, but they are so tasty & complex here.
