Bien manger, c’est aussi manger sainement, à Ryu, les plats sont non seulement délicieux mais aussi nutritifs; réconfortant en bouche autant que pour le corps, c’est ça l’engagement Ryu. Pour nous l’experience « Manger Ryu » c’est aussi se soucier de votre alimentation.
Les critiques soulignent globalement une expérience de sushi de très haut niveau chez Ryu, avec des ingrédients frais, des plats joliment présentés et des saveurs qui se démarquent, et le poisson et les sushis décrits comme parmi les meilleurs de Montréal, tandis que l'atmosphère est perçue comme chic et cosy. Le service est généralement décrit comme attentif, professionnel et efficace, contribuant à une soirée fluide. I've been to a lot of restaurants over the years, & it's rare to come across service like that. From the start, everything just felt smooth & natural. He's easygoing, confident, & clearly knows exactly what he's doing. What stood out most is how he knew what to recommend, both for the food & the drinks. Everything just worked.
The food was amazing overall, but the sashimi was easily the highlight of the night. You could taste the freshness right away, super clean, just done right.
Nothing felt rushed, nothing took too long, the timing was on point the whole night. & all the small details were handled without us even thinking about it.
Overall, the food & drinks were great like you'd expect from Ryu, but Charles really made the experience stand out & thank you for that again.
I had a reservation at RYU this past Saturday night. I went with my wife & three other couples, we're visiting from NYC & everything from start to finish exceeded expectations.
The fish was some of the freshest I've had in a long time-every dish was beautifully prepared & full of flavor. They definitely prioritize quality ingredients.
The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, professional, & made the entire evening feel seamless & enjoyable, their drinks are excellent-definitely worth trying a few.
If you're looking for a place in Montreal with a great atmosphere, outstanding food, & top-tier service, I highly recommend Ryu.

Hands down one of the best Japanese restaurants I've ever been to, right here in Griffintown! The food was absolutely outstanding - every dish was fresh, beautifully presented, & bursting with flavor. The tartares were some of the best I've ever had, & the A5 Wagyu tataki was next-level - melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The drinks complemented the food perfectly & elevated the entire experience.
On top of the incredible food, the service made the night unforgettable. Michael went above & beyond to make sure everything was perfect. His attention to detail, professionalism, & genuine care turned a great dinner into an amazing experience. Because of him, I've already decided this will be my go-to spot for future business meetings & events.
If you're in Montreal & want an unforgettable Japanese dining experience, this is the place to be.
I recently visited Ryu with a group of friends, & unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. We had to repeatedly flag down our server just to place orders, & when we did, they brought the wrong appetizer, serving me meat dumplings despite knowing I'm vegetarian. This completely ruined my night, as I felt nauseous afterward. While they did offer a drink on the house & removed the incorrect item, they didn't take full responsibility for the experience, leaving us to still pay for the mushroom dumplings. Overall, the service & attention to detail were not what I've come to expect from Ryu, & I left feeling disappointed.
This restaurant is worth a try at least once. This review was our second time; we returned because we had an exceptional visit the first time. Our group of 5 was the first to arrive with a 6:00 pm reservation. We were promptly served water but waited an eternity for our drink order to be taken. Food arrived promptly & was mostly delicious; follow-up service was slow. It could have been a rare exception for the lower service level. Atmosphere is "contemporary upscale cozy."
