Nous sommes allés au Rubis Rouge aujourd'hui &, malheureusement, notre expérience a été très décevante.
Mon mari est le seul de nous quatre qui parle anglais. Nous parlons également français & espagnol, mais malgré nos efforts pour communiquer, plusieurs serveurs faisaient comme s'ils ne comprenaient pas ou nous ignoraient complètement. Nous avions constamment l'impression de déranger.
Dès notre arrivée, personne ne nous a expliqué clairement comment fonctionnait le système. Nous avons commandé quelques plats à partager. Lorsque nous avons essayé de demander du riz ou des nouilles, la serveuse ne semblait pas comprendre &, au lieu d'essayer de nous aider ou de nous proposer une solution, elle a simplement fait un geste comme si cela ne l'intéressait pas & nous a laissés parler seuls.
Personne n'est revenu nous voir pour nous proposer autre chose ou vérifier si nous avions besoin de quoi que ce soit. Nous avons donc simplement mangé ce que nous avions commandé.
Je tiens toutefois à préciser que la dame qui s'occupait des soupes & le jeune homme qui distribuait les oeufs (si je me souviens bien) ont été très gentils & courtois avec nous. Malheureusement, les autres membres du personnel avec qui nous avons eu affaire nous ont traités comme si nous étions une nuisance.
Au moment de payer, nous avons laissé 10 % de pourboire, soit environ 3 $. Nous laissons habituellement 20 % ou même davantage lorsque le service est bon. Dans ce cas-ci, nous avons tout de même laissé 10 % par courtoisie malgré la qualité du service.
La caissière nous a alors regardés avec colère & nous a dit, en criant : « Seulement 3 dollars ?! »
Nous avons trouvé cette attitude extrêmement irrespectueuse. Un pourboire est un choix du client & ne devrait jamais être réclamé ou reproché de cette façon.
Ce qui est encore plus décevant, c'est que nous étions tout de même prêts à laisser un pourboire malgré le fait d'avoir été pratiquement ignorés pendant tout le repas.
Nous ne demandions rien d'extraordinaire : simplement un minimum d'attention, de respect & de service.
La nourriture était correcte, mais l'attitude de la majorité du personnel & surtout la façon dont nous avons été traités ont complètement gâché notre expérience. Nous ne reviendrons malheureusement pas.
Ok food, but the service is nonexistent. They treat their guests as an inconvenience. If that is the case, management should post a sign at the door telling people not to go in. That way the staff wont be bothered!

Ive been going to Ruby Rouge for 20+ years but hadn't been in 3 years.
I went this past Saturday & was shocked & saddened .
1st the place is filthy! The tablecloths, seat covers, & carpet were beyond filthy with stains of all colors!!
Some seat covers were so filthy darkened by stains you go see it from several tables away!
If a restaurant doesnt care how filthy the areas are that their clients can see, what's happening in the areas you can't see.
2nd the taken from the carts was cold, & the selection was limited at 11:30 am dimsum, just 2 carts on the floor at a time.
Finally the service ....... the service has always been'special' so I know what to expect.
The waiter got into a loud fight with a elderly chinese couple about a tip, almost shoving the elderly man, & smashing the dishes loudly into the plastic bin.
When my guest asked the waiter if they had coffee the waiter laughed in her face , saying ,'coffee, what this isn't tim Hortons, walked away laughing.
When we asked for a spoonful more of mayonnaise for the fried shrimp dumplings, the waiter looked us up & down, & muttered something & walked away .
The rudest disrespectful behavior ive ever experienced.
Sadly Ruby Rouge is no longer what it use to be.
This was, without a doubt, one of the most disappointing dim sum experiences I've had. I genuinely don't understand how this restaurant is still operating in its current condition.
The first thing that stood out was how unclean the restaurant felt. The chairs were covered in white cloth that looked like it hadn't been washed in years, the entire place looked worn down, & there was a strong unpleasant odour throughout the dining room.
The service was just as disappointing. The servers were rude & dismissive. Whenever we asked for something, we were told to ask another server, & often no one came back to help us.
The restaurant advertises itself as a venue for large events like birthdays & weddings, but based on the condition of the space, I honestly can't imagine celebrating an important occasion there. I remember this restaurant years ago, & it used to be much better. It now feels like the owners have stopped investing in maintaining the restaurant.
As for the food, it was mediocre at best. Nothing stood out, & it certainly wasn't worth the visit.
The most concerning part of our experience happened when it was time to pay. While processing the payment, the server changed the tip amount on the payment terminal while holding my father's card. When we questioned her immediately, she appeared embarrassed & couldn't provide a clear explanation. For that reason, I'd recommend paying close attention to your bill & the amount being processed before completing your payment.
Unfortunately, I won't be returning, & I can't recommend this restaurant based on my experience.
Nous venons de quitter ce restaurant. Probablement la pire expérience dans un resto en vingt ans. Nourritures exécrables, Général Tao au goût douteux avec des morceaux de poulet qui a la texture du caoutchouc dans la bouche. Mon conjoint demande le meilleur plat végétarien. Il reçoit un bol d'une trentaine de Bok Choy bouillis & sans saveur. Mon neveu opte pour des dumplings aux crevette. C'est une crevette entière dans une pâte, sans le moindre goût. Le tout avec un service quasi absent & la propreté des lieux est douteuse. Les nappes avec plein de taches, une théière sales etc. Je ne recommande aucunement ce restaurant. À éviter même.
Very large Hall type of restaurant serving dim sum. The food is excellent, the service is quite good ladies pushing dim sum carts. The restaurant is very large.
I don't care much for rude customer service if the food is good, but one of the staff members crossed the line & ruined a special event with his terrible attitude. He was rude as hell to even a senior. Do better, communicate better, or close down.
