Romados emerges in these reviews as a Montreal staple famous for juicy, smoky Portuguese rotisserie chicken, generous portions, and a pastry and dessert counter that many say rivals the best in town. Visitors praise a welcoming, efficient staff, a clean space, and a pronounced aroma that signals the grill, with favorites spanning chicken sandwiches, bifana, chouriço, poutine and a variety of sides. Pastel de nata and other pastries are repeatedly highlighted as standout treats, and the poutine with chicken or sausage is often noted as especially satisfying. While the experience is described as fast, friendly and affordable, several reviews mention price increases and occasional inconsistencies, with some batches of chicken drying out or sauces being too thin or mild and portions evolving over time. Some commentary notes a shift after ownership changes but others feel the kitchen has regained its former energy and flavor, and the overall tone remains loyal and appreciative. All in all, Romados is seen as a dependable go to for bold flavors, hearty portions, and a range of Portuguese bites that keep customers coming back for the nostalgic, comforting mix of grill, spice, and sweet pastries.
Les portions de poulet que les Portugais donnaient étaient plus généreuses que celles de ces nouveaux responsables, même pour votre portion de poulet, ils vous donnaient du pain, maintenant ils ne le font plus.
Good bang for your buck. They give a lot of fries, a reasonable amount of meat, & a salad for around 17$ It tastes light but the more you eat, the saltier it gets. Not a lot of people sitting in the restaurant but theres a constant roll of in & outs. Good place to visit.
Been missing Romados when COVID hit us all. Went today after more than 3 years. No line-up?! Well, i can say why... there's nothing good anymore of the "old" Romados. Here we get some generic grilled chicken that doesn't have the distinctive charcoal & piri piri taste. Gone. The rice was hard & tasteless as the chicken. The poutine (regular) was tasty (brown gravy!) but little to no cheese curds. Only redeeming thing is fries are still good & service is good also. I gotta say this but even St-Hu... piri-piri chicken taste way better than the now Romados. Will not be going back anymore. RIP Romados. Sad but true.
Yeah.. this place never disappoints, I always get the whole chicken 🐔 spicy with roasted potatoes 🥔. I absolutely love ordering their delicious chicken.. 👍
Rapide, portions très généreuses, le poulet grillé, le chorizo, les frites, la salade, la sauce piquante, tout est savoureux, à prix avantageux. Jamais déçus!
The chicken is delicious. We also enjoyed the rice & sides. We came here twice while on vacation in Montreal as it was close to our lodging. All the Portuguese chicken we've tried since has not been comparable to this place.

I live just around the corner from this place so I'm in there a lot. Not only is the food amazing but the staff are just the best. So friendly & welcoming- makes it stand out.
Je suis allé vers 1h30 aujourd'hui pour un sandwich bifana.la madame qui a faite mon sandwich était très généreuse merci bcq mon sandwich étais parfaitement délicieuse.
Had the bifana. Thought it was odd they didn't have mustard, but it was very good & didn't really need mustard anyway. Pastéis de nata was also very good. Friendly staff & quick service.
