This is Montreal's premier spot for salmon, paired with amazing fries, mushrooms, & chicken. Even the mocktails are delicious! While busy days can feel rushed, the service remains solid. With excellent portions & high-quality food, it is highly recommended.

I had probably the best sandwich of my life here, would travel back to Montreal just to have it again! Love the vibe of this place, pricey, but worth it. My cocktail was fantastic as well, highly recommend.
Had an absolutely wonderful dining experience here! The atmosphere was warm & welcoming from the moment we walked in. Our server was attentive & knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The food was exceptional - fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, & beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor. The portions were generous & well worth the price. The restaurant was clean & well-maintained, & despite being busy, we didn't feel rushed. The dessert was the perfect ending to our meal. We'll definitely be returning soon & would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal & excellent service. Five stars!
Excellent Experience, suprising that it took me this long to try this well established fine steakhouse, this is from about 2 weeks ago, highly recommend!!!!! :)
Great food, love the atmosphere & service was very sweet. Props to our server Matt. I'd say this is a perfect stop for good food without the business of TV screens. Not too loud & booth seating is the best.
Only caveat is most items range around $30. It seemed pretty tough to find anything interesting under that price range.
Highly recommend their pumpernickel bread! Didn't know it could taste that good!

Great food. Great service. Great vibe. 3 of us. We all enjoyed our meals. Went there prior to a hockey game. Very friendly spot. Definitely would recommend a reservation. I booked 5 days ahead & had to take earlier than I wanted. Ordered roast beef melt, original Reuben & steak sandwich.

Beyond the main dishes, the variety of desserts is outstanding. From classic favorites to indulgent treats, there's something for everyone, & they're the perfect way to end a fantastic meal.
The service made the experience even better. Gustavo & Andres were excellent servers-friendly, attentive, & genuinely professional. They made us feel welcome from start to finish & ensured everything was perfect.

We went in for steak & ordered the Sullivan cut with shrimp, mashed potatoes, fries, some veggies. The waiter was very knowledgeable, freindly & prompt. We absolutely loved the food & service & recommend this restaurant for awesome steak. There was no reservation needed around 6 pm even on new year's Eve but they had reservations after 7.30 pm.
Stopped in here for lunch. Super friendly welcome at the door & the waiter was also really friendly & helpful with recommendations. The food was absolutely delicious. We both had the traditional sandwich - 1 super, 1 Charlie & their homemade cheesecake after. All were amazing. Absolutely recommend this place. Pricing is pretty good value, especially considering where it is located.

My go-to spot when I have a birthday party for a family member or a last minute gathering. Honestly their food is so good & you can't go wrong, their staff is also super friendly. I always get the nicest service & you can tell they care about their customers. Have been & always will be a returning customer!

Went back to Reuben's with a group for my sister's birthday & honestly, we had such a good time. The food was amazing again, everything was cooked perfectly. & I have to mention the strawberry cheesecake… it's honestly addictive, & they make it fresh every day (thanks to my server Kim for the tip).
Speaking of which, the service was exceptional. Kim was so attentive & made the whole experience even better.
Overall, this place never disappoints. Highly recommend!
We were looking for a good place to have Montreal smoke meat sandwich. This place seems to be the best around downtown. The inside is quite a bit nicer than other options.
Service was excellent. Drinks were good. I ordered the classic Reuben, but added the coleslaw. This was the best sandwich ever! The pumpernickel bread, meat, melted cheese & sauerkraut was perfect combination. The coleslaw was well worth the add on. One of the best coleslaw I've had - more on the vinegary side. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a Montreal smoke meat sandwich!
Don't go to grab food & run, even if it IS allowed. Stay & experience the ambiance.
We were told this was a deli & a restaurant, so I had expected a two-sided situation, like a walk-up window or two separate entrances. No; they had an old-fashioned meat counter deli inside a rich, 1920s sit-down restaurant. High ceiling, dark wood, vintage murals & servers dressing in black & white uniforms with crisp white aprons.
We sropped to grab sandwiches to bring on the next leg of our tour, the place having been recommended to us. Even though we mistakenly treated the stop line a quick deli shop, the staff served us graciously & quickly. They acted like it was a GrubHub or DoorDash order, but with the customers in the lobby! So very kind.
My husband got the Rueben & I had the Turkey Club. The sandwiches were at least 3 inches thick, piled generously with savory meat. The side of French fries were only lightly salted (which I appreciated) & the portion was just as generous-couldn't even finish them all. The sandwiches were toasted & then foil wrapped to keep them warm, & the To-Go box was bigger than a hard-cover novel. It had to be for the amount of food they gave us!
There was an attractive case of layered cakes & desserts that I really wish were had sampled. We passed because I didn't think they would survive the upcoming bus ride.
As wonderful as the food was, we really need to go back & enjoy this place correctly.
Don't make the mistake we made! Sit down & enjoy the experience.
Another excellent dinner at Rueben's Deli! The Montreal Smoke Meat sandwich was generous & delicious, melt in your mouth. & yes they have gluten free options, like steak & salad. Highly Recommended!
One of the best smoke meat in town, menu is well prices & well worth it. You'll notice there's always a manager supervising any plates leaving the kitchen to make sure every dish is perfect, you can actually see the kitchen. This place has been stable & consistent over the last 29 odd years I've been going. Highly recommend & please try the smoked meat !
