Great interior. Service was fantastic. I even got a taste tester of the meat. But my sandwich was underwhelming, & even worse was the poutine. Try sticking to the og smoked meat sandwich or something else entirely.
I accidentally got on the train going the wrong direction tonight.
Ended up at Reuben's instead.
Ordered the smoked meat, medium fat.
Upgraded the fries to poutine & added smoked meat on top.
Pickles on the side.
The meat was warm, smoky, & generous without falling apart.
The gravy soaked into the fries just enough.
The pickle wasn't a side dish, it was the reset button.
What impressed me most was the service.
No interruptions. No forced check-ins.
Napkins appeared exactly when needed.
It felt less like dinner & more like a small, well-timed gift from the city.
10/10 would happily get on the wrong train again.

Got on the wrong train.
Found the right sandwich.
Nous sommes venus pour faire goûter la pojtine & du smoked meat à un cousin venu de France. Il a adoré ses plats (halburger & poutine on the side). Je ne suis pas super fan de ce genre de nourriture mais j'ai apprécié mon club sandwich & étonnamment... les frites qu'en général je touche à peine ! Notre serveuse était vraiment super fine ! L'ambiance diner underground était sympa.
5 étoiles pour mon repas de fête ce soir !! J'ai pris le fameux sandwich & changé ?a frite en poutine. Le sandwich était excellent mais la sauce poutine tres moyenne.. En entrée les languettes de poulet étaient WOW. Comme dessert le fameux gâteau au fromage excellent. Les bloody cesar à 18$ c'était un peu excessif par contre, mais c'est ma fête une seule fois par année !! 200$ pour deux personnes pourboire inclu. Il est possible de manger pour la moitié du prix à deux, on ne s'est pas vraiment attardé au prix !! 5 étoiles car rendu à la maison, on ne regrette rien du tout. On y retournera.
What a bright-eyed anglophone would expect from Montreal. Fantastic job on the short rib poutine. Piping hot gravy, crisp with fluffy in side fries, & the rib was so tender & flavourful.

Assez décevant pour la poutine dont les frites sont trop fines & pas croustillantes (pas sûr qu'elles soient fraiches). Pratiquement aucun dessert maison …

Pas de poutine barbecue dans le menu réduit pendant le Grand Prix de F1. Difficile à comprendre qu'ils puissent proposer la chop-chop mais pas la barbecue.
This place is now my go-to spot for smoked meat sandwiches in Montréal. We tried the Famous Super Sandwich & the Chop Chop Poutine-both were absolutely delicious. Our waitress was outstanding: professional, friendly, & knowledgeable. She (we forgot to ask her name) was definitely the best waitress we've seen in a long time!
Amazing smoked meat sandwiches. The meat was not grainy like a lot of reuban sandwiches, & it was super flavorful & rich. We had poutine on the side, which had amazing gravy. On another note, the service was incredible, & our server definitely earned his high tip. If you're in the area, this place is definitely a must go at least once.
The restaurant has a very classic feel to it. Gustavo provided excellent service for food & drinks that were also both phenomenal.
For starters, we had the potato pancakes & sweet pickles. Nothing was coated in too heavy of a batter, it was all very light & tasty. The mustard dip went really well with the appetizers! As a vegetarian, this was the last place I thought I'd try, but Gustavo was great at recommending a few items for a main dish. I was thinking about the mushroom flatbread before he recommended the Reuben vegetarian sandwich, I was happy I went with his suggestion. The vegetables were cooked nicely, the rye bread was fantastic, & the poutine was perfection. That being said my brother & father's sandwiches looked quite hearty & they had nothing but good to say about it!
All in all, this is a must try restaurant if you are in downtown Montreal. It was a five minute walk from our hotel & it was well worth it! A reservation was made in advance, so make sure you give yourself some time if you are going during dinner rush.

Possibly the best meal I've ever had. I had the striploin (12 oz) & my wife had the Reuben Club with poutine. The gravy on the poutine was unique & amazing. The steak was to die for, each bite delicious & perfection. We hardly ever get dessert but opted for the strawberry cheesecake & the carrot caramel cheesecake. Service was fantastic & the atmosphere casual but with purpose & intent.
The portion is enormous. & the smoked beef in the sandwich club is so tender & flavourful. 2 entries fed 3 of us well. The side dish of poutine is average & the garden salad is a bit pricey for the extra charge. & the food was served fast. There is free street parking right in front of the restaurant.
The smoked meat is very different from other famous Montreal flags for Smoked Meat. It is cut very thin but the strips are too long & kinda chewy... biting into a sandwich doesn't do it without pulling all the way to the end of the strip... but the Poutine Chop Chop is amazing
