Service was good! Prompt & helpful. We asked for some recommendations & were mostly met with "I wouldn't order this, but everything else is great". We got the large corned beef sandwich that we shared. The bread was a little sad, like soggy? Would be better toasted like on a reuben. The mustard was good. I really like that the meat wasn't fatty at all. Sometimes I feel that corned beef sandwiches are really tough & fatty which wasn't the case here. Had the onion rings which were good but not special at all. Not sure you get enough for the price. Also got the short rib poutine, & for some reason the meat was cold? The fries were hot & steaming, but the meat was cold until we buried it under the fries & gravy & then it warmed up. It was good but not outstanding. Had two cocktails, they were pretty solid. Nothing was super standout, at nearly $40 I think I expected a little more flavour in the sandwich, & nicer bread. I'd go again but would maybe try other items. So overall a 4 star experience.
I was confused between this place & another Reuben that's close by. Well, the other one wasn't open so I could only visit this one. Came here for my 2nd dinner as I only had one day in Montreal. I had to get the "OG" sandwich with smoked meats. Boy, did it not disappoint. It was the best thing I had with my 3 meals in Montreal. The smoked meats were flavorful & tender. With melted cheese, I really liked it. I did upgrade the fries to a poutine, but this didn't impress me. I don't like my fries soggy & the cheese & gravy certainly did. It was also on the salty side. My wife got the French onion soup as she couldn't eat much for her 2nd dinner. The soup was not bad, but she had made one before & I think it was better. I also read some reviews & was looking forward to the black cherry soda. Glad I ordered as it was tasty! The service was great as our server checked in with us often & was very courteous. Nice display of smoke meats in front. I would certainly go back, even if it was just for the smoked meat sandwiches.
Researched a place for dinner & was so glad I ended up here! Staff are very professional & friendly, the atmosphere is casual, & the food taste & quality is top notch! Went with the Striploin steak, twice baked potato, & a cheeky BBQ short rib poutine to share - all were excellent! As a meat fanatic, it really was tough to choose from the menu, so I will definitely have to go back to sample more of it!
Staying nearby on vacation & went here on a whim. Ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. Bartender was super nice & suggested the (pictured) smoked meat & poutine. Even recommended me some places to check out later that night since it was Labor Day eve. Very thoughtful. Food was of course delicious & more importantly filling. You get your money's worth here. Will repeat if I'm ever back in the area.

First time here visiting Montreal. This place is amazing! Friendly staff & the food is awesome, we've been to the infamous NYC delis & Reubens is better. It's a must while visiting the beautiful city of Montreal. Oh, & don't forget to try the rib meat poutine!
If I could give 100 stars, I would!! First time here & loved everything about it! The employees, the service & most importantly the food - AMAZING! Our waitress Elizabeth was awesome, & always made sure we were taken care of! We were a group of 9 & after ordering, the food came within 7 minutes - talk about great service! I had the chop chop poutine & roast beef melt, & can't wait to come back & try everything else on the menu!
Cercavo un ristorante che potesse offrire specialità tipiche del posto come la poutine e il manzo affumicato (smoked meat) e ho constatato che questo ristorante è perfetto. Ambiente informale ma molto carino dove si mangia con la magia del jazz in sottofondo; il menù è molto vario e si possono gustare vari tipi di hamburger, sandwich gourmet (consigliatissimi quelli con la smoked meat), piatti tipici ma anche con un occhio alla cucina internazionale per soddisfare ogni palato. Prezzo un po' superiore alla media ma la qualità è garantita. Personale gentilissimo e sorridente. Locale sempre pieno, pertanto è vivamente consigliata la prenotazione.
Was in Montreal for 3 days & stopped in for a quick lunch, it ended up being the best meal I had my entire trip! My girlfriend & I split the Montreal smoke meat sandwich with a poutine & it was a perfect size for the both of us. The service was also exceptional. I highly recommend Reubens & look forward to visiting again!

I rarely, & I mean like never leave a review but this place deserves one. Service 11/10 Our server Matthew was beyond amazing...polite, patient with our 5 kids with us, accommodating, insert more positive adjectives for Matthew...he was that good, I wish I could take him back to the states to train the miserable servers we have. 25% tip no question that's how great he was. Food- 11/10 Party of 9 & everything was amazing. From salads to sandwiches everything was beyond great. I'm ashamed to say I left food on the plate....but portions were great. I had the OG grilled sandwich with brisket, bacon & sausage...I'm about to explode...the poutine was delicious too Do yourself a great service & stop by to grab a bite here...I Guarentee you leave with a new definition of what great food & service should be
My husband & I had the BBQ Shortrib Poutine as starters. Original Reuben Sandwich & Grilled Salmon as our main meals. The food was 11/10 delicious!! The portions were a good size! Service & atmosphere was amazing ! I will definitely be back here next time I am in Montréal!!!

Fantastic experience. We had lunch there & our 3 young children. The smoked meat sandwich & the poutine was great. Our server Orly was fantastic. Extremely kind & helpful. Such a memorable experience for a casual lunch. I highly recommend.
Let me tell you what you wanna do here: get a sandwich or burger & because everything comes with fries, make those fries a little poutine! Ordering a poutine starter was bold & unnecessary. I wish the poutine was served flatter & on a wider platter (like nachos): the gravy was all in the centre/at the bottom, & the meat was all on top & it was impossible to mix everything, you couldn't get the perfect bite. The gravy wasn't my favorite. The Delmonico was very good (that buttered bread yum yum) & not for anyone on a diet. It was good for two people. We were served a very different bottle of wine than ordered. It still tasted good & was the same price but funny that they presented that at all (it wasn't even on the menu). April 2024
Was good but too expensive, in my opinion. Poutine was very good. The sandwiches got soggy in transit back to my hotel. They need to have a better way to package their takeout so it won't get the bread so gross & soggy. Other than that meat was good I would recommend eating in the restaurant. Service was amazing considering im an English speaker. I was treated equally, felt welcomed, & respected.
Ordered to go & service was very fast. Food was hot, & simply smelt divine. I got the classic Reuben with a side of poutine (upcharge). The poutine was my favorite part of the dish. The sandwich itself was good, but not the best Reuben I've ever had. The meat is sliced thin & well seasoned. Not a lot of sauerkraut. Secret sauce is good as well. Would definitely come back to try a dine in experience.
Always a treat to go to Reuben's. Great food, great service & never disappointed! My favourite meals are the poutines. Both the smoked meat poutine & the short rib poutine are perfect as meals that won't leave you feeling too heavy.
