After 20 some hrs, two connecting flight (@ Hong Kong & Vancouver) including a red eye flight, we finally arrived at Montreal around 8 am. My first meal at Montreal. Dim sum. The price is reasonable & it's quite authentic, delicious. It's nice to find such good dim sum restaurant in Montreal.

I'm giving 5 stars on everything because it has the food I was looking for: cart dim sum perfection! The atmosphere, while not perfectly clean or tidy or up to date, I am also give 5 stars, because it had the exact ambiance that I expected & was actually looking for! Outdated chair covers, old dragons on the walls, maybe a bit of peeling paint... It's all part of the experience in my books.

Ces lieux ont connu des jours meilleurs. Les housses jadis blanches recouvrant les chaises ont perdu leur éclat; certaines sont littéralement brunes. Les grandes fenêtres ne sont manifestement jamais lavées. L'endroit a besoin d'un bon nettoyage & d'une redécoration. La variété du menu semble s'être appauvrie avec les années. L'hôtesse arborait une magnifique absence de sourire. Je choisirai un autre resto dim sum, dorénavant.

Le restaurant Kam Fung est très populaire au chinatown & offre une variété de dim sum. Certaines entrées sont meilleures que d'autres & la constante de qualité est malheureusement assez variable & inconstante. Parfois on a la chance que les dim sum soient goûteux & servis chauds & parfois c'est le contraire... Correct dans l'ensemble sans plus.

Cherchez-vous d'un brunch avec des amis?! 🥟 Dim Sum est un brunch parfait - service attentive & pour batter la foule allez tôt! C'est une expérience communautaire 😊 Dîtes oui à tous pour apprendre ce que vous aimez pour la prochaine fois. Après avoir mangé tous les goodies, il faut prendre une sieste! 😴 During brunch, we were told every dish in French & English & I can't wait to be back!!! My favourite spot for Dim sum 🤤 Everyone wears 😷 which made me super comfortable 👌

We chose this place as we were trying to find a non-touristy!!! Chinese restaurant in China town via this website & looking at the recommendation on my phone. It was a bit difficult trying to find the entrance of the place, as you access it through a business centre serviced probably by Chinese businesses for mainly Chinese diaspora & then take the stairs to the upper level & go towards the south-western corner of the building.

We were a bit more dismayed seeing the white cloth covered chairs & tables, normally used for receptions/weddings but checking their menu we found not only stuff that we love but also that their prices are not high compared to similar prices in UK or USA.

The staff was very friendly & welcoming & although only 3 table being taken, we noticed by the time we left, there were around 8 table occupied near our window table overlooking a wall, which meant we had a quiet environment & the servers were faster.

The food was great, a mix of dim sum, soft shell crab, beef rice etc & noticing how ripped both the table cloths & the menus were, our server told us the owner prefers this for more character!!!

Good place for your dim sum craving, affordable & tasty. Choose the items that are coming out from the kitchen to be sure you get your food hot. Do not hesitate to ask for special items that are not available on the food cart!

my first impression was not great— the floor is dirty, my seat had oil & crumbs, & a couple dishes needed to be swapped out because they were also dirty. the food WAS good i will give them that! it was a bit overpriced, though i suppose everything near old port is.
the carts used to bring food out were also wet & unsightly like something you see to stock chicken in grocery stores… you don’t go to dim sum expecting the keg atmosphere but this place is in serious need of a deep clean & new linens that aren’t ripped & stained . the food is genuinely tasty & i would love to come back but i don’t want to lose my appetite!

Good, by Montreal dim sum standards, there’s no denying it. So to wrap it up, they do dim sums as good as you’ll get in town, though hardly the best per se (there’s not an ocean of difference in between the beter dim sums in town), & the average ingredients (the technique is there, make no mistake about that ) we have in Mtl can certainly leave the right impression that those could have been way better dim sums. But this is indeed among the finest dim sums you'll get in town (the one in Brossard is a tad better though)
