The dim sum style of serving food by passing carts is not available at all hours of operation.
But it's worth going when they serve food by the carts!
The busiest time seems to be weekend brunch.
Expect to wait a bit for a table. But the food is all good & very filling.
Some items can be ordered by the menu, too.
Restaurant traditionnel authentique. Les Dim Sum la fin de semaine sont parfaits pour des groupe.
Really good! Ordered the lobster, fish & selection of dumplings & dim sum, & so yummy.
A solid dim sum that had everything I was looking for, served fresh & plentiful for a reasonable price. Ordered 11 dim sum items plus an entrée to share & Spent about 70 each. As a frugal diner I walked out with absolutely no buyers remorse, fat & happy. Our waiter was attentive, considerate, & helpful & we were encouraged to stay as long as we liked with complimentary green tea from start to finish & orange slices for dessert that were the perfect touch & really made us feel looked after. The most comforting dining experience I have had in a really long time.
Caveats: we went on a Monday pretty much right when the doors opened for dinner. We were 2 ordering enough food for 4 & relied heavily on the server recommendations. We were one of only a few tables in the restaurant.
Me & my sister were the first people in for dinner service yesterday evening & the food & service was incredible. Everything we ordered was piping hot, perfectly prepared, & the portions were generous for the price. We loved the selection of harder-to-find dim sum plates, like the tripe with scallion, the saucy chicken feet, the sticky rice in lotus leaf, & the spicy beef tendon. After our meal, our waiter brought us a little plate with cut up oranges on it &, i'll be damned, it was the best orange i think I've ever tasted. We got our leftovers packed up & they kindly let us sit & enjoy some tea for quite some time, it felt like being guests in someone's home. 10/10 we will DEFINITELY be back.
Everything is made fresh & on the spot. I'm from NYC & the dim sum is comparable. It's very good, not oily, & pretty authentic.
The vegetarian dishes were good, lots of options (some with mock meat) & price was reasonable. We went in the late afternoon & ordered both from the dinner menu & dim sum menu, but the dim sum was not fresh. I find the restaurant's hygiene concerning. Several tea cups were not cleaned properly with lipstick, there were flies flying around.
Nothing beats nostalgia with dimsum carts! The dimsum ladies pushing the cart were super nice & friendly. 10/10 for service. I'd come back only for the dimsum cart. Food was average - the soup dumpling was cold & a lot of the items were overpriced.
Dim sum was chewy & not very tasty. maybe I am spoiled because I always compare dim sum restaurants with San Francisco's yang sing but this was a bit of a disappointment in all honesty
For a guy who spends at least 2 months a year in china 3 stars is even to high. No where near the dim sum of china. Just ok. I never have it in montreal but a friend invited us so I went. Really not worth the calories.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Benny for providing delicious dim sum for our corporate event. The delivery was punctual, & Benny, along with the driver, went above & beyond by helping us bring the food into the building. Exceptional service & mouth-watering dishes-highly recommended!
I visited this restaurant after seeing some reviews & decided to give it a try. It has the typical ambiance of a Dim Sum spot, though it leaned heavily into common stereotypes. Unfortunately, the variety of Dim Sum was lacking, & the service left much to be desired. While our hostess was very kind & made us feel welcome, we were seated in a corner & waited over 30 minutes before anyone offered us water or checked in.
The selection was limited, & instead of pushing the carts around, they left them parked in the corner, so we had to keep asking for items. In the end, we only received five dishes before deciding to leave, as staples like chicken feet, shu mai, & hum bao were unavailable.
The only good things about the place was that the food is seasoned & it has flavor, & the egg tarts were good, the over service was sub par.
We decided to try this spot for dim sum in Montreal, as it seemed like a promising option. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We were seated in a separate room where service was extremely slow, & the dim sum cart rarely came by. The food wasn't great either, it lacked flavor. For example, the pan-fried radish cake tasted like it had way too much flour, which threw off the texture & taste. Overall, we didn't feel well taken care of, so we paid the bill & left a 10% tip, which we felt was generous given the service. To our surprise, the server came over to count the money & told us the tip wasn't enough, which we found very rude. Given the level of service, we felt that 10% was more than fair.
One of the only Dim Sum places always ready in the morning with chinese broccoli & our favorite desserts- Doufuhua & lotus paste sesame balls. (They also have the red bean ones, but I can only eat the lotus ones.)
Excellent hidden spot. The classic dim sum took me back to childhood. Delicious with great service
Best dim sum in Montreal, best flavour & quick service. Truly the best.
Great restaurant for dim sum. Get ready for a wait, but once inside take a load off. Would recommend ordering some Chrysantheum tea & get your stamp card to order some goodies off their carts!
