My husband & I have dined at Quattro several times & specifically always on New Year's Eve. The reason we returned was because the food & service had always been amazing & always super welcoming by the owner. Even during busy visits, everything ran smoothly & we felt well taken care of in the past. Unfortunately, this 4th visit was a huge disappointment.
The restaurant was extremely busy & seemed overbooked, & it appeared there was only one server handling roughly 16 tables, plus a long communal table in the center that accommodated about 12 guests, along with a full bar at one point. There were about two or three people bringing food out, but no additional servers taking orders. Approximately an hour, those same three men began taking orders, which made it clear the staff was stretched far too thin.
Our server seemed overwhelmed, unfriendly & rude, which unfortunately affected the entire experience. Just very unpleasant. Several times we placed orders with simple specific requests, & they were forgotten everytime. What was most frustrating was that there was no effort to correct the mistakes or even acknowledge them.
Food was as okay. The Ragu lacked flavour, steak was overcooked but flavoured well & the spicy shrimp pasta was great.
As we were getting ready to leave & putting on our jackets, the owner stood very close to our table, which felt uncomfortable. I moved in toward the table thinking she needed to pass, but she said she wanted to clear the table for the next guests. The interaction felt rushed & unwelcoming, especially after an already disappointing experience.
We know how great Quattro can be, which makes this visit especially frustrating. We truly hope this was just an off night, but it did not reflect the level of service we've come to expect from this restaurant.
Just based off of last nights (New years eve) experience we unfortunately will not dine here again.

My family & I ate dinner here during our trip to Montreal & it was one of our favorite meals of the trip! My mom has Celiac's so we chose this restaurant in part because we had seen it offered gluten free pasta & the website said it was gluten free friendly. When we got there, the owner welcomed us, & when my mom mentioned she had to be gluten free, the owner reassured us that the vast majority of the menu could be made gluten free, so not to worry.
Everything we ordered was delicious, from the appetizer & cocktails to our dinner & dessert. We all got pasta, with my mom even getting gluten free gnocchi. The owner showed my mom what brand they used so she could try to find it when she got home. Our waiter was very attentive & provided great service. We loved the ambience & had a very nice evening. If only we had more time to go back another night!

I'm from NY. This is a true Italian restaurant. The home made pasta is awesome. & they have gluten free options.

We were a group of 11 people for my husbands birthday party & the staff did so well to accommodate us!! We even had one guest that was celiac & had to eat gluten free & they were also very accommodating.
The food itself was delicious, I got the octopus as an entree, penne as the main, & pistachio gelato for dessert. The octopus was tender, the pasta was delicious & the pistachio gelato was INSANE.
Thanks again to the amazing staff who made my husbands birthday an amazing surprise & catered to our every need!

2021 Review! Good pasta & Really Nice Canneloni dessert unfortunately I got stuck with a Bad bottle of Barberra(avoid) it changed halfway through the bottle to something nasty(horrible ).This was according to my memory the WORSE BOTTLE PURCHASED(THE BOTTLE JUST KEPT GETTING WORSE WITH EACH SIP TILL JUST BEFORE HALFWAY THROUGH IT REALLY REALLY DID BECOME UNDRINKABLE!!)FROM A RESTAURANT IN THIS LIFE OF OVER 50YEARS!! NOTHING HAS EVER COME CLOSE!!! & I ASKED THEM TO TASTE IT!!THIS HORRIBLE WHO KNOWS WHAT!! & THEY REFUSED TO REFUND!!! Interesting enough they do have nice premium bottles on hand like Sassicas ?? I have easily spent several hundred thousand $$ on wine in this lifetime. It is one of my PASSIONS & Montreal is a REALLY GREAT PLACE FOR THAT Especially with SAQ!! ONE GOOD THING WHENEVER I GET A BOTTLE THAT I AM UNHAPPY WITH I JUST HAVE TO THINK ABOUT THE MENTIONED BOTTLE & IT GETS BETTER!!🙂 AT LEAST TO THIS DATE!!!

We had an absolutely incredible dining experience here! My Northern Italian husband is picky when it comes to Italian dining, but Quattro didn't disappoint. The food was delicious, the service outstanding, & the ambience was perfect. They have fabulous wines to choose from & the desserts were truly outstanding. We ordered lasagna, risotto with porchini mushrooms, & seafood pasta. For dessert, we had the tiramisu & chocolate souffle. We'd recommend everything! This place definitely deserves the 5-star review. My guess is that anyone rating it lower doesn't know how real Italian food should taste. This is the real deal!

My family was there for dinner last night. The service was excellent & the food was so delicious. Obvious from the first bite, the cavatelli pasta was homemade. This happens to be my favourite pasta & restaurants don't typically serve it, so that was an extra. Drinks were great. Overall, would highly recommend!

What a wonderful experience from start to finish. Very cute ambiance & great service. Waiters were fully aware of celiac disease & recommended us plates (even telling us what pasta they used)! Most items on the menu can actually be made GF. Tasty dishes & the owner is lovely. Would come back:)

My boyfriend & I visited Montreal in jan. & went to this restaurant twice for dinner. I am gluten-free & the pasta that I had was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend had an amazing meal as well. We also tried what became our favorite wine ever at this restaurant. We still talk about it! If we get back to montreal, we will definitely be visiting this restaurant again.

We visited montreal & found this place on a search i CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ENOUGH! Our experience was super awesome all the staff were very nice & knowledgeable. It was a very pleasant vibe & you can tell that all staff love to work there. They were very accommodating we had one person with is that was gluten free & each staff member was able to give us recommendations maybe only like 3 items they weren't able to have. They had an awesome variety of items & everything from the burrata, arancini to the pastas were all amazing. If you are looking for an Italian place to eat i would highly recommend. We wish we would've tried this place at the start of our trip we would've eaten here everyday!

As someone who is gluten sensitive, I loved dining here. I made the reservation on Resy & chose "anniversary" as what we were celebrating, so I think maybe that's why the owner came to greet us by name at the door when we arrived, which made us feel so special. She was a lovely woman who told me that 95% of the menu could be made gluten-free. I ordered the cavatelli & got a delicious, flavorful pasta that I enjoyed with a gf bread bun on the side. The service was also very nice & attentive. Would def recommend & would return!

Have not had pasta in a very long time due to gluten intolerance. Found this hidden gem in old montreal. Fantastic ambiance & very good Italian food options. Music was great. If you are looking for some traditional Italian food this is a must try in old montreal!

Amazing restaurant! The food & atmosphere was perfect. The hosts were lovely & welcoming. I strongly recommend the swordfish, polpette & the ragu homemade pasta!
