Review Summary

Pho Anh is widely celebrated as a hidden gem in Montreal, offering an exceptionally authentic Vietnamese dining experience that many diners compare favorably to their travels in Vietnam. Guests frequently praise the scratch-made condiments, complex house-made broths, and high-quality ingredients, often highlighting the four-colour broken rice, various pho soups, and crispy wings as standout dishes. While the restaurant is modest and occasionally busy, resulting in varying service speeds, the staff and ownership are consistently described as passionate, warm, and highly informative, frequently taking the time to explain traditional eating methods. Despite some minor notes regarding seating capacity or occasional long wait times during peak hours, most visitors find the reasonable pricing and depth of flavor well worth the visit, making it a favorite destination for those seeking traditional, comforting, and high-quality Vietnamese cuisine.

My favourite Vietnamese restaurant because it is super authentic, the only place where pho soup doesn't taste like MSG & makes you so thirsty like hell after. I'd recommend their pho & grills. The green papaya salad is ok but a bit small.

But Bun Bo Hue really needs some improve, it tastes plain & nothing like the authentic one (the special fragrance for Bun Bo Hue is missing) but overall it's amazing! The grills were good!

We visited this restaurant with my mom & my aunt, & it was one of the best Vietnamese food experiences we've had in Montreal

We ordered the **Special Nam Dinh Pho**, & it was absolutely delicious. The broth tasted just like authentic Northern Vietnamese pho-rich, comforting, & incredibly flavorful without the overpowering five-spice aroma that is so common in many pho restaurants overseas. It truly reminded us of home.

My aunt, who has lived in Canada for many years, said this was the first time she had eaten a bowl of pho that tasted this authentic. That says a lot.

The restaurant itself is clean, cozy, & has the warm feeling of a family-run place where you can relax & enjoy a great meal.

If we ever visit Montreal again, this restaurant will definitely be one of our first stops. I'll also be recommending it to all of my friends. Thank you for bringing such authentic Northern Vietnamese flavors to Canada!

You can taste the care put into the food. I had noodles in a housemade veggie broth…not your typical'obligatory' vegetarian dish. Great to see a restaurant that's really about the food.

So happy we found this great family owned restaurant! The Pho we had was delicious. As good as what we had in Vietnam! Looking forward to trying the other items on their menu when we go back :)

I simply had the best pho ga in my life. The soup was so delicate, the meat incredibly soft, & I really appreciated the dipping sauce. I will probably think about that dining experience for a long time :)

I took the bun Bo hue but it lacked flavor & it had a bunch of random pieces of meat? It was okay overall but I wouldn't recommend taking it 😞

The food was decent, with a generous amount of meat, & the soup had an okay flavour. We got the impression they were heavily understaffed, but the wait was much longer than expected. We waited a very long time for our food, especially for a Monday night, & even had to ask for the bill twice before it finally arrived.

Overall, the food was fine, but it wasn't worth the long wait. Hopefully the service improves, as the meal itself had potential. We are used to pho being served with lemon grass, sprouts, etc. which this place did not have but atleast good on a cold day.
