Perfect dough & a generous amount of filling. The bun tasted very fresh & delicious. The quality of buns sold at other bakeries doesn't compare to here.
My wife & I visited Montreal, we made a stop in the vibrant Chinatown district & decided to try Bao Bao Dim Sum for a quick bite. It was our first time trying bao & buns, so we were quite curious & excited to experience something new.
The bao buns themselves were quite impressive in terms of texture, soft, smooth, & fluffy, just as they should be. They had a gentle, almost pillow-like quality.
As for the filling, it was decent but not exceptional. It had a mild flavor, & while it was well-cooked, we felt it could have used a bit more seasoning or a bolder flavor profile to really make the experience memorable. It wasn't disappointing, but it didn't quite wow us either.
Overall, our experience was pleasant, especially as a first-time introduction to bao. It's a good place to try something different, especially if you're exploring Chinatown & want a quick & easy meal. While the buns themselves stood out for their excellent texture, the fillings left a bit more to be desired in terms of flavour.
A highlight of our meals. The baos & dumplings were good but the egg tart was amazing. Buttery, flaky crust with a delicious egg filling that reminds me of HK tarts. Highly recommend!
