Afficher toutbuns(24) pork(10) steamed(6) filling(5) recommend(5) sweet(5) chicken(5) teriyaki(5) quick(5) chinese(5) highly recommend(4) price(4)Price is great, the presentation & preparation of the buns is nice. The taste is good but not impressive. I would still try again but I would try to find something more flavored. The experience is good enough to go back overall!
I was so excited to go to this place & it did not disappoint. I got 3 buns. A bbq, green tea paste & a brown sugar red bean paste. I loved that they had so many options & with cute decorations. All of them were amazing. Best buns I've ever had! I also got a kiwi bubble tea which was delicious. I can't wait to come back & try more!
BBQ pork bun is a must try! Perfect dough & a generous amount of filling. The bun tasted very fresh & delicious. The quality of buns sold at other bakeries doesn't compare to here.
This was a fast & affordable place to grab a bite. The buns were delicious & the spicy porc bun was so flavourful & definitely had a kick to it. I would highly recommend checking it out. 2 buns & chow mein came out to almost 18$. Not bad in this economy. Would be going back.
I am just telling our own experience. We'd always bought buns from their bakery next door (I don't know if it's the same owner) but this time we decided to finally try the little restaurant. We bought 3 rice cakes in green leaf, insipide no flavor, the rice was a cheap brand, overcooked it just tasted like a white flour paste, ingredients inside consisted of a whole dehydrated mushroom so old that it lost it's flavour. The other rice consisted of a very dried red been paste which broke in pieces when I went to cut it, no flavor/bland, the third one was a yellow rice (I think they just used food color) same thing not any spice nor flavor. Won ton soup a 5 out of 10. Now the Egg rools: seemed like they just rolled up two tiny cabbage leaves in egg rolls wraps… That's it! No flavor. How can they be so indifferently apathetic serving such food to their clients! We just felt we've been ripped off. I think they just trap new clients/travelers who never return back, who else would.
A convenient spot for bao buns & all sorts of dishes. Prices are reasonable & quality is good - I just wish they were open later!
Bao craving people, here's your place to go! All kinds of sweet & savory varieties are available, they also have congee, noodles, & other snacks in the menu. Price is reasonable. I got myself a chicken mushroom congee & bun, it was ok
The food at Bao Bao dimsum is yummy. Price is reasonable. The freshly steamed dimsum buns are 👍. Not many seats inside. Depending on what you ordered, expect 10min wait time for the main dish. Definitely will shop again.
My wife & I visited Montreal, we made a stop in the vibrant Chinatown district & decided to try Bao Bao Dim Sum for a quick bite. It was our first time trying bao & buns, so we were quite curious & excited to experience something new.
The bao buns themselves were quite impressive in terms of texture, soft, smooth, & fluffy, just as they should be. They had a gentle, almost pillow-like quality.
As for the filling, it was decent but not exceptional. It had a mild flavor, & while it was well-cooked, we felt it could have used a bit more seasoning or a bolder flavor profile to really make the experience memorable. It wasn't disappointing, but it didn't quite wow us either.
Overall, our experience was pleasant, especially as a first-time introduction to bao. It's a good place to try something different, especially if you're exploring Chinatown & want a quick & easy meal. While the buns themselves stood out for their excellent texture, the fillings left a bit more to be desired in terms of flavour.
Order two ???in Chinese
Chinese bbq pork steamed bun
Staff understand Chinese when I ordered in Chinese
Great place for both sweet & savory bao buns. Our top pick was the braised pork. Limited seating, but easy for takeaway.
The bao were amazing & inexpensive! we got the green onion, teriyaki chicken & the pork & cabbage buns. All were soft & delicious.
Stopped by while visiting the China town. I wanted to try their steamed buns but it seemed they didnt have them today? So we ended up getting their mochi (mango & taro). In my opinion, they were not impressive. I'd recommend to get other pastry
It is more 33% expensive than Harmony, Jade Restaurant & Coco Bun. They have a bigger selection & it comes in a gimmicky cute shape sometimes (which is probably why they are more expensive) Cute pastry shop but their cold milk tea is $5+. Why is it mor expensive then the warm milk team? How is ice 20% more? They gave me the wrong pork belly bun which is disappointing & it was $7 including tax unfortunately. Overall, 3 stars. I would take my asian mother there but maybe white people from out of town would enjoy looking at the cute hello kitty shapes. The taste was only not as good as their competitors. Take out only usually since they don't really have a dining room
We were craving steam buns, & this place showed up on our search. Filled our craving. The beef was tasty. Pork was OK as well as the teriyaki chicken.
