Review Summary

Patisserie Bao Bao Dim Sum draws broadly positive feedback across reviews for a wide range of steamed baos, congee, noodles, and other dim sum at reasonable prices. The buns are commonly praised for their soft, fluffy texture and careful preparation, with fillings that range from flavorful savory options to sweet custard; a few fillings are noted as mild and could use bolder seasoning. Freshness and quality are emphasized, and the shop is described as simple and pleasant with efficient service. Seating is limited, making takeout a common choice and suitable for quick bites or park outings. Some reviewers mention wishing for later hours. A few critiques appear, such as underseasoned items or minor packaging issues, but overall the experience is viewed as solid and a good value in Chinatown for both sweet and savory baos and other dim sum offerings.

Great for a quick bite! The spicy pork bao is spicy & the beef has a nice flavour to it.

My wife & I visited Montreal, we made a stop in the vibrant Chinatown district & decided to try Bao Bao Dim Sum for a quick bite. It was our first time trying bao & buns, so we were quite curious & excited to experience something new.

The bao buns themselves were quite impressive in terms of texture, soft, smooth, & fluffy, just as they should be. They had a gentle, almost pillow-like quality.

As for the filling, it was decent but not exceptional. It had a mild flavor, & while it was well-cooked, we felt it could have used a bit more seasoning or a bolder flavor profile to really make the experience memorable. It wasn't disappointing, but it didn't quite wow us either.

Overall, our experience was pleasant, especially as a first-time introduction to bao. It's a good place to try something different, especially if you're exploring Chinatown & want a quick & easy meal. While the buns themselves stood out for their excellent texture, the fillings left a bit more to be desired in terms of flavour.

The bao was adorable & delicious. We had the mixed vegetable & the green onion. The mixed vegetable was so flavorful. The texture was perfect. The green onion was simple, but also great texture. Service was very quick. Highly recommend.

Got the Mo bun, poulet teriyaki, pork, & mango coconut bao buns. Everything was phenomenal. The Mo bun was my favorite. Will absolutely have to come back & try more. The prices were reasonable, service was good, & buns were delectable. The presentation of the dessert buns was adorable. You can't go wrong stopping in here for some quick, savory/sweet/tasty buns!
