The food was pretty good, some things were delicious & others were OK. I recommend doing the buffet so you get to taste a bit of everything in small portions & then order more of what you actually like. It was also a little hard to find since the entrance is through another restaurant. The prices are also very reasonable! I highly recommend their mango slush with strawberry popping balls 😋
This was a real disappointment. I was very excited to try an all you can eat restaurant, but what a disappointment. Unfortunately, I won't be back & cannot recommend.
FOOD
All the food that is meant to be served hot was cold or room temp. We ordered two rounds & it was the same for both. Additionally, i ordered a spicy salmon sushi & it was not spicy at all. My boyfriend said the mock chicken tao was aweful. A lot of the items had too much sauce. The sushi were very average, not sure why some comments say they are the best sushi in town. Sushi momo, ohana & bloom are so much better, it doesn't even compare. The only thing I liked was the sauteed veggies even if they were room temp. I hope we don't get sick. Not sure if food has been sitting out or was not reheated properly.
TERRIBLE MENU
The menu was scanned, which is fine, but there was no description of the foods, just names. Therefore, when it came to sushi, you had no idea what was in it. Additionally, some items were marked SG which I assume means sans gluten (gluten-free in English), but the item would be marked gluten-free in the english menu, but not french menu. Plus, I asked the waitress if it meant gluten-free, & she had no idea what it meant
GLUTEN-FREE OPTIONS VERY LIMITED
We were 5 & I was the only gluten-free free one. I had called to see about the options, & she did mention it was limited, but some things are possible. When we got there & I scanned the menu, & since it was unclear what I could eat, I asked the waitress to tell me what's gluten-free. She mentioned that all sushi could be made without tempura to make them gluten-free, but that in the wok items, the only thing was sauteed veggies. I kept asking her to verify for other items marked SG & turns out some were gluten-free & others not. So we order & then she comes back to inform me that 3 of the sushis are not gluten-free afterall which were all the most interesting ones. I new my options wouldn't be awesome. But I still went for the rest of the group, but honestly it's not a good choice for gluten-free.
SERVICE
The service was quick which was nice. There was a robot bringing the plates which was funny for my daughter, but the robot did make a lot of noise on the tile floor. The waitress were not knowledgeable on the menu for gluten-free & kept needing to ask & didn't seem confident. They were polite though & quick to come when we signaled. We had to find & get the high chair ourselves. The booster was broken. Waitresses never proposed it.
ENVIRONMENT/AMBIANCE
Not the best, it felt quite cheap. Lacked decor. Cheap chairs, no place to hang coats. Plastic water jugs. Plastic soy sauce plates. Wooden disposable chopsticks & not cutlery. Had to go get forks ourselves. The one nice thing was that it was spaceous.
PRICE/PAYMENT
It was 37$ for all you can eat. Obviously, all you can eat is never the best ingredients. A lot of fried food, rice, & noodles to stuff you. I think the price is ok if it had better food. We have the mon quebec vegane card for discounts & when I asked her if they participated she said she didn't know. I looked it up & found the 10% discount & showed my card. She then applied it, but again lack of knowledge.
food was delicious, plentiful, & hot. attractive presentation. service was efficient & polite; special requests were fulfilled with ease. lovely spot. recommended.
La nourriture est absolument excellente! Les choix sont hallucinants & les plats sont frais & bien faits! Dépendamment du jour & de l'heure l'ambiance change. Le service est fait par des humains... & des robots! Absolument recommandé pour les choix véganes !
Amazing Vegan food available! Wish there is one in the south shore! Just that it is not too easy to park around there! All the food is great! Love the broccoli with beef, sushi 🍣 , rolls, the veggie tempura, fried Japanese style tofu are great. Our family visit quite a few times a year. Recommended if you want to eat & stay healthy! The photos are part of the food we had enjoyed the other night.
One of my "must go" place for vegetarian food. It has been very consistent. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for Taiwanese Restaurant.
Nourriture très bonne. Parcontre nous avons été très déçus sur 2 points: service TRÈS long pourtant le restaurant n'était pas plein! On a dû redemander 2 ou 3 fois aux serveuses savoir si nos commandes avaient été reçues...il manquait même quelques items qu'on a dû recommandé ensuite. Sinon le menu, vraiment déçus car il y avait beaucoup moins de choix qu'avant... nous sommes allées l'année passée & on avait plus de choix de plats chauds etc. J'espère que cela changera en mieux car malgré la bonne nourriture ça nous fait hésiter à revenir... :(
J'ai commandé de chez eux. J'adore le concept de sushis sans cruauté & leurs prix sont très standard. J'ai mis 4 étoiles car j'ai eu un très bon repas mais pas exceptionnel 5 étoiles. je recommande!
I will start by saying that the food was amazing. Everything we ate was delicious. However, the experience was quite unpleasant. We arrived at 7pm & our first round of AYCE sushi did not come until 7:50. Not only that, but it was only a small part of the order. We never got our complete order, the soups we ordered from the first round didn't come until 8:45pm. We ordered about 4 rounds of food in total & we only got about 2/3 of everything we ordered. The server never told us about last call, the food just stopped coming. We didn't feel like we ate enough & because of that we don't think it's worth the money. In addition, there was only 1 server on the floor. She was working hard & it's not entirely her fault for slow service, BUT she had many chances to make our experience better & she didn't. For example, she filled our water only one time within the first 10 minutes when my cup was still nearly full, then never again. She chose to clean off other tables near closing time instead of checking in on us. The very least she could have done was ask us how our food was as we were paying, & she didn't even do that. I felt she really just didn't care about her job & wanted to go home. We didn't expect much at all from her since she was so busy, but it would have made our experience a lot better had she just checked in on us a few times. Maybe we just came on a bad night. I really wanted to love this place & recommend it to all my other friends who travel to Montreal, but I'd be too worried that they would get the same experience as us. We loved your food & the concept of this restaurant, but with so many other great vegan restaurants in Montreal, Oplante has to do better.
Les plats sont vraiment délicieux, le personnel très agréable & attentif à nos besoins. On est jamais déçu, je recommande !

Mais l'endroit est idéal pour discuter entre-ami(e)s & s'entendre parler. Ce qui n'est pas négligeable aussi, la distance entre les tables. Je recommande fortement !!!
Le service est médiocre. Leur système électronique de commande ne fonctionne pas du tout. On a attendu 1h pour que la serveuse nous dise que nos 2 commandes qui étaient placé ne sont jamais rendu. Par la suite on a dû toute re-commandé & attendre à nouveau. Je ne recommande pas le resto. La nourriture est boff mais le service est tellement épouvantable.

La distance entre les tables est plus que raisonnable. Pour ne pas sentir son voisin dans son assiette. Un lieu que je recommande fortement!
Honestly? Fantastic food. Everything we ordered was delicious. Hats off to the chefs. Unfortunately the waitresses were inattentive, dismissive, & rude. Like many places, Oplante has a call system for the servers & we called for service a total of 9 times, either ordering or to pay, & we're only served 2 of those 9 times. They left our dirty plates, which we had placed on the edge of the table, there for approximately 20 minutes before taking it away & when they finally came to serve us they casually mentioned that it was because we didn't buy into the buffet that we got such slow service. I recommend for take out or maybe the buffet but if ordering à la carte, it's definitely not worth it
Service buffet vraiment lent. On obtient pas toute notre commande. Certains sont partis après avoir reçu 6 sushis seulement car l'attente était ridiculement long. & y'avait pas tant de monde que ça. Ça pris 45 minutes avant de recevoir la soupe & après, il faut vraiment faire pression aux serveuses & à la cuisine pour avoir un peu de notre commande. Ce qui rend l'expérience très désagréable. & c'est la 2e fois qu'on revient depuis la réouverture de la salle à manger & c'était la même chose la 1ere fois. C'est dommage car la bouffe est vraiment bonne! Pas recommandé pour un anniversaire.
Everything was absolutely delicious. It is quite pricey sadly so I won't be able to go very often, but I highly recommend this place.
The sushi there is amazing! I highly recommend this place, for vegetarians & non-vegetarians, it's worth it!
