Busy Chinese noodle shop with a cozy interior dishing up housemade hand stretched noodles in a variety of broths, Lan Zhou style. Directly across from McGill university. Delivery by Uber.
A hot spot for McGill students, locals, & tourists! Nouilles Zhonghua is an incredible hole in the wall restaurant serving authentic hand-pulled noodles. In typical fashion, you can watch the expert craftsmanship of your noodles & various dishes live. The interior is really small, so don't be surprised when you're seated directly next to strangers. The menu doesn't have too many different options, but I'm sure you can't go wrong with anything based on what we had.
We got the beef noodle with Chinese pickled cabbage & two Chinese hamburgers. The food comes out rapidly & steaming hot. We just got the thinnest noodle style (mo xi), but you are able to choose up to seven different styles. The noodles were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of bite & chewiness. There was a good amount of beef & pickled veggies all imbibed with the hearty stew. The Chinese hamburgers were also very tasty. The buns were crispy & filled to the brim with savory, juicy pork meat.
Nouilles Zhonghua is the perfect place for a cold day & a quick, no-frills meal!
The oil spill noodles is very good 😊 & the spice was perfect. Chewy noodle & crunchy vegetables.
The only downside side is that it's a pretty small space with few seating, so if you're eating inside, you might end up sharing a tables with strangers. The stranger in front of me was a messy eater.

delicious hand-pulled noodle restaurant! It seems like it's always very busy so expect to wait & share a table. I got a small beef soup, which was the perfect portion for a late lunch, but I'd probably recommend the medium! As a visitor to Montreal, this was a perfect first meal on a chilly day.
I have been there multiple times & it WAS great those first times. I went today & there was plastic & I ended up swallowing some because it was in my noodles. This is not acceptable. I get it's a rush to get everyone their food since there's a long wait but not an excuse to forget about food quality.
Restaurant was quite small. There was a bit of lineup, which didn't bother much. The texture of the noodles & meat were great, very fresh. However I find the broth too much on the salty side. But that's just my opinion. Overall it was ok.
Noodles come in three portion sizes & you can choose their width. Broth is savoury but could use more meat flavour. The cucumber salad isn't good at all (too sweet) but the other sides do the job.

If you're looking for hand pulled noodles in a tasty broth this is the place. The portions are very generous (try the'large' soup, it's basically a baby bath size bowl). Expect lineups at lunch as there's only seating for 25 people & be prepared to share a table with other patrons. Hands down this place is superior to Nouilles de Lanzhou. Still the best hand pulled noodles in the city!
Update: went back & tried their standard beef noodle soup. The noodles were soft & pasty due to not being worked enough. This is a common'shortcut' restaurants take to save on Labor costs & get prep done faster. I ended up throwing out most of the noodles in my takeout order, which means I didn't eat much.
Unfortunately it is also a serious fault. In China the noodles are chewy because they are expected to be so. Soft noodles in this style are unacceptable.
The broth was also very, very bland. I've had way more flavorful vegetarian broths.
I might get the other items, but I'd be hesitant to try wheat noodles here again given the low quality & poor texture.
Former 5 star review from last week: Pretty good. Liang pi not the most flavorful, but styles vary & this is solid.
I declined the pork burger but either they misunderstood or didn't care because I got in anyway. I ended up not minding because it didn't taste much like pork & it was delicious. 😋

Charming little noodle place.
Really compact inside.
Great little spot if you like Langzou style noodles! I recommend it!
This place seems pretty popular & crowded at meal times. There was even a long lineup for this place.
So I recommend going a little early before lunch or supper time because otherwise, youre gonna wait in a lineup.
The food was delicious they give you big bowls of noodles its delicious the noodles are made by hand in front of you the services was great i felt like in china recommande this place if you like chinnese food
Had the medium beef noodle soup with a Chinese hamburger. Delicious. The meat was tender, the broth was tasty. Added some additional spice & a bit of soy sauce. Good prices. Better than the popular place in Chinatown.
