The atmosphere is vibrant & inviting, making you feel right at home the moment you walk in. What truly sets this noodle shop apart is the mesmerizing sight of the chefs making fresh noodles right in the window. It's not just a meal; it's a show! The homemade noodles are nothing short of incredible-chewy, flavorful, & perfectly cooked. Each dish I tried was bursting with authentic flavors that transported me straight to the heart of noodle culture. The menu offers a great variety, ensuring there's something for everyone. If you're looking for a unique dining experience with delicious food & a lively atmosphere, Nouilles de Lan Zhou is the place to be. I can't wait to go back for another bowl of those amazing noodles! Highly recommend! 🍜✨
This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've eaten in my life, the broth is tasty & the meat is tender, I took a giant bowl but the service needs to be improved
Huge bowl of noodles. Excellent. You have to hang in there when it's hot. 🥵
They have expanded the place since the last time I went & added a few more seatings to meet demands (people are still lining up). Food is made fresh but was it out of this world? No, i've had similar noodle bowls elsewhere & price point, expect about 20$ per person (i find it expensive for what it is). As many people mentioned in their reviews, there is no air conditionner. We left this place sweating like we just took a shower, i hope they will eventually take this in consideration. Will I come back anytime soon? No! Service was fast & friendly.
Nice place. Have vegetarian ramen option. Their appetisers are very tasty. Must try the edamame & cucumber salad. Portion size is excellent. They have vegetarian & beef, pork broth. Do not have chicken broth. We took the small size bowl & was more than enough for one person. Great location right in Chinatown.
I had the Dan Dan noodles. The noodles themselves were good, but there was about .5 cm of orange oil pooled at the bottom of the bowl. I feel sick now from the overly oily dish. Others seemed happy with their orders though.
I recommend the Dandan bowl of noodles. It's the most flavourful dish. The soups are ok. They offer a combo. Main, one side & a tea egg. This puts u under 20$. The spicy cucumber salad was very good. So were the edamame. We felt rushed to order not quite understanding the option. Service is quick with a high turnover as there is always a queue outside. No a/c here.
The service is so so even when it's not busy. The most important thing of Langzhou noodle soup is disappointing, it does NOT even taste like beef soup. The radish makes it even worse. The noodle itself is Ok, but nothing special besides its chewy due to its undercooked . & the bowl they serve me for noodle soup had a huge notch on the edge, lol. I won't go there again.
A seemingly landmark restaurant here in Montreal, Lan Zhou was a great stop while I was here in the city. Chinese food is quite expensive where I am from so I was really eager to give this place a try as it has some of the best reviews in the city. We were seated almost immediately upon arrival. I noticed that the menu was quite limited as well, not very many options but the few available were so mouth watering. I didn't know what to order but eventually ordered a combo #4 which came with a choice of salad, a hard boiled egg & the order of noodles with beef. Even though it was a bit dry, I enjoyed the meal a lot. A good enough portion with a slew of different ingredients mixed into the bowl made it very flavorful & filling. I was most satisfied with my purchase & our choice to eat here.
This place is busy at dinner time. Get there early to line up. The noodle are freshly pulled right at the front of the store. You can pick the the thickness of the noodle from 1-7. & you can pick how spicy 🥵. I recommended less spicy for people that hasn't had very spicy food. Don't want to ruin the whole bowl of noodles. Hot sauce at the table if u want to add more. The soup is pretty authentic. Maybe a bit less flavorful than the one I had before but still very good. We also ordered the tea eggs, which was also good. Warning!! The large bowl is huge. Unless you are super hungry or sharing. Go medium.
My husband & I heard this was the best place to get hand pulled noodles in Montréal's Chinatown. We decided to wait in the long line outside. I'm so glad we did! The line moved pretty quickly & they seated us promptly. The place is small, but you don't feel like you're right on top of other diners. Service was fast, & while they turned the tables & seats over quickly, at no point did we feel rushed while eating. The noodles were delicious & were served in large, beautifully designed bowls.
Great! Ordered the Special Nouilles & a small bowl was definitely enough. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. (Picture is the medium size)
Not sure what all the hype is about. My medium vegetable noodle bowl was bland & lacking in flavor. Also, a minimal amount of veggies(broccoli, corn, one piece of micro sliced carrot & 2 mushrooms) didn't make it any better! The hard boiled egg was tasty. Interestingly, when I asked for soy sauce I was told it wasn't available & was only offered to use the salt shaker sitting on the counter. The edamame salad was extremely salty. Not sure if I'd ever recommend as I've had much better soups & noodle combinations in many other places. Very tight dining with an interesting Chinese grocery in the lower level.
First day exploring. 16 degrees F & was looking for a nice bowl of noodles & broth. Stumbled upon this noodle shop because the gentlemen in the window pulling the hand drawn noodles caught our attention. Upon walking in, there were steps into an underground Asian super market. Ambiance was great for a small noodle shop. Service was great. #6 noodles was my go to. Spice level wasn't bad, wish it was spicier. Definitely ask for vinegar to add into broth to balance out the MALA flavor. Other than that, I would recommend this spot for a nice bowl of noodles on a cold day!
