Resto is set in an old house full of charm, giving it a warm & cozy atmosphere that feels quite unique. It's definitely a different kind of spot, perfect if you're looking for something with character.
The service was good & friendly, but the food was just okay - nothing really stood out.
Un resto correct, mais sans plus. J'ai commandé un bloody cesar, méchant Chuck de céleri, mais surtout épicé ou choix de clamato, pas débile. Repas correcte pour le prix. Je m'attendais plus
J'adore le décor de ce resto. La nourriture est excellente & les portions très généreuses. De plus très grand choix de menu. Service parfait & très présent. Préférable de faire une réservation surtout les fins de semaine.
J'imagine que ça peut plaire à certains, mais de toutes évidences, ce n'était pas ce dont j'avais envie. Cuisine traditionnelle, menu rétro. Beaucoup de panure, de plats gratinés. Sommes toutes bien exécutées. Service correct. Content de l'avoir essayé, mais pas l'intention d'y retourner.

After 40 years of frequenting this restaurant on a fairly regular basis, I was a bit startled by this rude young lady telling me I had to be out by 2 hours on a night it was clearly not busy. Also followed by a condescending,'Do u understand?' May be her job to say this but it is dependant on how fast the kitchen is.....It kinda wrecked the evening for me which was sad & I know nothing stays the same....the food & servers remain pretty top notch. Given we spend consistently over 300 per visit, I am rethinking my options if this is how people talk to their patrons.
Nice old style farmhouse. Wide menu selection. Menu could be more complete regarding what comes with your meal. Group of 12 for lunch, did not feel rushed. I had Fish & Chips, nice wide cut fries a little greasy but tasty. My wife had a Chicken Brochette was nice, again explanation of meal would have been helpful to avoid food intolerance.
A great place to eat & relax just by the road about 30 minutes to Montreal, coming from Ottawa or going to.
The roast beef & the onion soup are perfect!

This was a new experience. I have, over the years, heard about the food at Mon Village, especially their Prime Rib.
I wish I too was able to try it. But we were too late. We arrived for the reservation early, at 7:30 after a game of golf, & were told they were out of the prime rib.🥲
So I ordered the Chicken & Ribs & my husband had the Coquille.
The chicken breast was perfectly cooked & juicy. The ribs...I wanted more. It was served with home-cut fries, the best, & steamed veggies (they were a bit undercooked for my liking). The sauce that smothered both proteins was slightly sweet & tangy. I completely loved it.
The coquille's sauce was just like my mom used to make. Potatoes circled the mushroom & seafood filling. It too was served with steamed vegetables but here my husband got rice instead of fries.
The only disappointment we had was that the prime rib wasn't available. We were told that service starts at 5 pm until they have no more left. Some days it sells out quickly & some days not. Reservations of meat are not allowed.
Will we go back? Probably.
Very nice rustic, comfortable atmosphere with great French inspired home cooking. I make it a point to bring my largest Generac Dealer in Canada here whenever I'm in Eastern Ontario.
I had the Grilled Chicken Cesar Salad for lunch, it was magnificent.
