Service was very friendly & accommodating to guests (unfortunately not always common in Asian restaurants)- I was pleasantly surprised! The staff know their customer demographic is primarily tourists/locals who want an'approachable' Chinese restaurant experience. We are from Vancouver, where Chinese food reigns supreme & we enjoyed the food- we ordered crispy chow mein, beef fried rice, soup dumplings, siu mai & har gow. It was all delicious! It is not the kind of restaurant you enter & see 90% of Asian diners but it is significantly better than most'westernized' Chinese restaurants. Would definitely go back again!

The food is actually so good! The best Cantonese style restaurant I've been to in Montreal. We were a bit basic in our order, the Cantonese chow mein, chicken fried rice & orange beef (they put real little pieces of shredded orange peel! Tasty!) Also, the staff are absolutely lovely. Friendly, sociable, & attentive to your needs. They also get along well with each other & are friendly with the customers at the tables, chatting & joking, which made a nice vibe & not always the case at Chinese restaurants where staff are often minimal & efficient, but not more than that. I think they were all in a good mood, which is a good sign in terms of how the restaurant is managed. I felt like the staff went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. The place is a bit hard to see from the road, it's tucked away, so probably why I never noticed the place before now! Will definitely be coming here instead of other similar restaurants in Chinatown from now on

Best Chinese food in Montreal - hands down! It's quite comparable to my hometown (Richmond, BC.. iykyk!) My favourite dishes are: hot & soup soup, the braised beef brisket chow mein, & salt & pepper squid but honestly, everything there is top notch. What makes Mon Nan even better is the quality service! Betty, Rosa, & the rest of the evening staff are super friendly, welcoming, & have become part of our Sunday night tradition.

We asked a local woman for a recommendation & she told us about Mon Nan! We ordered the spicy honey beef, egg rolls, & vegetable fried rice & they were all excellent. We are so grateful for her help finding this restaurant. You should try Mon Nan, too! I took the photo after we started eating, so the presentation is not as pretty as when they brought it to the table.

The food was AMAZING, & the prices were very reasonable. I'm honestly surprised there aren't long lineups! The clams, sesame beef, & eggplant tofu pot were all delicious. I wish I had taken more photos of the other dishes we ordered, but everything looked so good that we immediately started eating.

Had delivery from here & was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Everything was super greasy… crispy Mongolian beef was not crispy & tasted just like the general Tso chicken.
I would highly not recommend this place.
Overly priced for what you get as well .

Disappointed- this place was recommended by a staff member at our hotel. The Tao Chicken was so good 10/10, the chicken fried rice 9/10, the dumplings 5/10, beef broccoli 4/10. Now the service is what killed it for us. Everything was ok in the beginning, there were plenty of seats & the food came out quickly, but this is where it started going down hill. Seems they were giving us food from a different table. We kept the fried rice but in place canceled the chicken in bean sauce. Then we waited & had to request another soda like 5 times. Then when the bill came the lady automatically added the tip on the credit card reader (make sure to compare the price on the paper ticket with what's on the reader). Anyway, we were actually going to pay cash. Total was $115 after taxes & my husband gave $140 to get change back to tip & they never brought change. He had to go ask for the change. Seemed deceiving & our desire to go back- it's gone. We won't be back.

Honestly they're so many things to say, I saw the reviews thinking it would be amazing since we were visiting & wanted something good. Unfortunately, it was completely something else…..

Spent 120$ & still have regrets. It felt like they just wanted to give something so it's complete. The meat was duck & chicken cold - the beef general tao was worse, it didn't have any beef & you could feel it while eating it- the fried rice & dumpling were bland. Honestly, you better go to a buffet for better food.

I had to wait for them to service me because they taught I was'the uber eats guy'. & they don't care about you nor treat you well- you're just another sale. Don't let the images fool you.

My friend & I went for dinner & we ordered the general tao chicken, small portion of rice, & the beef in black bean sauce & rice noodles. The food was really good & the portions were big, worth the price. The general Tao sauce was delicious. Beef well cooked. We stuffed ourselves, the food could have easily made nice sized meals for 3 people.

Love this place. Been here twice ..first time got the sesame beef with chicken fried rice; delicious. Second time went with my bf & we had peanut butter pork dumplings & the spicy honey beef which were good, & we got the short beef ribs which we didn't like bc of the lack of meat it had too much fat.
