The ambiance is modern, which is nice but looks like a generic modern steakhouse & is lacking the feel & character of reputable steakhouses that I assume Moshe's sees itself as its category.
The sides were excellent but the 16oz ribeye did not taste like an 85$ steak. In my opinion, Morton's, Caesar's, Ruth Chris, STK have much better & unique tasting steaks. Moshe's was previously the most tasty.
I would give it one more try & otherwise go elsewhere.
Our first visit to Moishes was influenced by a TikTok video, & it left us with mixed feelings. Service: 4/5 The ambiance was undoubtedly the highlight 4/5. The atmosphere was truly amazing. However, when it came to the food, the Smoked Beef Short Rib, priced at $41, fell short of our expectations, though the Monte Carlo potato had a nice touch, resulting in a 2.5/5 rating. The racks of lamb, at $69 for 3 chops, were disappointingly small & lacked the expected flavor & tenderness, resulting in a 2/5 rating. The Lobster Mac & Cheese at $39 wasn't bad, but it was quite saucy. On the plus side, it had a decent amount of lobster pieces, & the cheese was nicely crispy. While it was decent, we've had better lobster mac & cheese, resulting in a 2.5/5 rating. In conclusion, we're not too eager to return. Our overall experience was a bit of a letdown, which wasn't what we were hoping for.
Went on Saturday the 11th in the night for my birthday dinner. Trevor was amazing & he also showed me the trevor special drink which was really good! He is very friendly & one of the best waitress i've encountered in my trip to montreal!! The food was also really good i enjoyed every bit of it & the vibes were immaculate!
We are 3&4 generations of Moishes diners. Eating at Moishes was a culture & a tradition. You arrived & gave your car at the lot (no charge) & marvelled at how when you returned your car was waiting for you!! When you arrived you were greeted by name which set the tone for special experience. (David fulfilled this for me!)The dining room was bright, intimate & elegant with white tablecloths. All of this was missing at the new Moishes. Although the food was very well prepared the service was unprofessional. No one came to our table to replenish wine or to check on our needs until we were almost finished our meal. It was sad to see some items which were traditional & unique to Moishes to have been eliminated.
To sum it up, the experience was like eating at a step up of a Cage au Sport with an upscale menu. I would think twice before returning & to have to pay 23$ plus tip to park my car when I can valet it at other restaurants in the area with only tipping the jockey.
Great venue! We went for a birthday celebration. Loved the sophisticated ambience of the bar area with its spectacular chandelier. We were seated in a spacious table/ booth where it was quiet enough to follow conversation. Our server helped us with our food selection, everything arrived in a timely manner; the steak was cooked to perfection. The millefeuille stood out & we were wowed by the pave royale. Highly recommend.
Nourriture excellente, un peu cher, ce ne sera pas un restaurant que nous fréquenterons régulièrement sauf pour des occasions vraiment exceptionnelles.
Me & my business partner are visiting Montreal for the second time. We are bloggers as well as youtubers. We wanted to see the hyped steak restaurant ourselves. A lady with the piercings was helping us with ugly pink nails. She treated us in such a weird manner I wasn't sure if it was because we didn't speak french or if it was because we filmed or because we looked young or like we didn't have money. We ordered a ceaser with fries & a new york steak assuming this place had good steak. I ordered vine but she couldn't find a clean glass in the whole section of restaurant. She finally viped the glass with a towel & poured my vine. Food was overrated even though the presentation was good the taste lacked a lot of soul. Poor kitchen or steak is not their forte.
The coatcheck was empty when we returned. Most of the old money white folks treated us disrespectfully bbut we weren't surprised. I will be talking about the disappointment this place gave me in my vlog.
For a luxury restaurant this place doesn't give luxury service & doesn't deserve the money or the name.
Le serveur m'a servi en cocktail 2 fond de bouteille de blanc & ne nous a pas servi le vin rouge avec notre repas nous l'avons fait nous meme & ne nous a pas demandé si nous voulions autre chose c'est bien loin comme service du boulevard St Laurent
Food was excellent, service mediocre, the waiter made many mistakes on our orders, forgot to bring plates, then we had to ask for steak knives, I assume it is because it opened not a long time ago, but when you charge high end price of high end food, service has to follow. I have been twice, I thought it was a bad luck but the same the second time. I hope they correct this, because it is beautiful & good.
We sat at table 100 last night & frankly found the waiter to be less than polite. On 2 occasions when I asked about a particular item he answered & I quote - I already told you that. I am not the type to reduce the gratuity but should have. I have been a loyal customer for close to 70 years. I have been to the new restaurant 6 times since the opening.
