I really loved my experience at Maman Sady. I especially loved the ambiance; the beautiful colors & the mix of Persian-inspired decorations, & little details throughout the restaurant that really bring Persian culture into the space. You can tell they know their culture & know how to create a calm, cozy, clean, & welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the Soltani, a combination of Barg & Kubideh, & it was absolutely delicious! The food was high-quality, beautifully presented, & full of flavor. My companion actually said something that I really liked. He wished more people, especially his non-Persian colleagues, knew about places like this. You can enjoy really good-quality food in a beautiful & peaceful atmosphere, often for about the same price as fast food but with such a nicer overall experience. I completely agree! I really wish more people knew about Persian restaurants like Maman Sady. & don't miss the Persian-style chai & the ice cream; they are amazing🙂
A big thank you to the staff for being so kind, polite, & friendly. I really enjoyed my time there & would definitely come back again! 🤍
a friend brought us here while visiting montreal & we absolutely loved the food. the atmosphere is so beautiful, the servers are all wonderful & the food is inspired & well done. you can clearly taste the freshness & creativity in the recipes which is hard to find in other persian restaurants.
highly recommend the chengeh kebab, & if you know whats good for you, get some extra Tahdig on the side. the appetizer tray is a MUST, & i would recommend adding the pickled garlic if you like garlic. In the apps, their kashke bademjan, mirza ghasemi, & olives were AMAZING.
Also got to try the fesenjoon & their special ghormeh sabzi with lamb shank (wow!) & both were great, albeit slightly too oily for my taste. they all leaked through the containers & bags for our leftovers.
there's complimentary soup at the start which was a great surprise & tasted homemade. overall a great experience. i personally dont enjoy traditional persian cuisine much & dont really eat out often, but if i lived in montreal i would come back here for sure. maman sady is an inspired chef & thats what i like to see more of in persian restaurants.
I don't live in Montreal & the first time I came here was a few months ago with a friend when we were visiting for a week. During that stay we came here 3 times because we've never had Persian food this good. Their Ghormeh Sabzi is with lamb shank & it's amazing. I also loved their Fesenjun, Kabob Torsh, & Chenge. I came back to stay for a few months & I've told almost all my friends visiting to come here & they also loved it as well.
The food was good(soltani & lamb shank). But
They forgot to bring us soup
Took long time to bring the bill,
But overall very good🤌🏽
Oooh!!!! Wonderful restaurant! lamb shank is super delicious !!!! Service is perfect as well.
I ordered the chicken kebab with rice & the lamb shank with rice.
The chicken kebab wasn't really worth the price, in my opinion. The lamb shank was decent, but the side dishes were quite limited.
One nice thing is that when you order a main dish, it comes with either soup or salad. The atmosphere was also pleasant & enjoyable. Overall, the ambiance was good.
I'm writing this review after visiting or ordering take out a dozen times.
Maman Sady has become a weekly staple for me, I'm absolutely obsessed with the soup, the lamb shank & the koobideh.
Best Lamb Shank I've had in years, in many cities.
The portion sizes are great, & the flavours unforgettable.
Every dish here is done with great care & pride.
Highly highly recommend,
Just be careful you will get addicted !
Terribly below expectations.will not return.
The service was super slow
The best part of the meal was probably the soup followed by the lamb shank. The rest was awful.
The appetizers arrived & were underwhelming. For the love of god, reconsider the size of the Shirazi salad! It's too small for a salad. The meat arrived very late & then it was cold. All of it! We complained that the filet mignon was cold & the waitress came & said she would bring a new one. After ten minutes she returned & said she would just warm up the one we had which turned the meat into a shoe sole. The chicken was dry & tasteless. Koobideh was actually decent.
This Persian restaurant is not worth the hype. If anyone wants to eat well, please head to Quartier Perse!
The Barg & kebab were great.
Fesenjoon & Ghormeh sabzi were not enough good in my taste.
Jojeh ( chicken) was fine .
& still I think the Fesenjoon should be either sweet or completly sour .... which was nutral taste not enough added pomme granade molasse neither. Ambiance is great. It s a Family restaurant, great choice if you want Grilled meat ; chicken , kebab koubideh or Barg .... not stew though . 🙏🫶I may return ...
