The food was good, but unfortunately the service was slow & unprofessional.
I was there on Saturday with a group of seven people. The appetizers were fine, but at first they didn't bring any plates or spoons. After we asked, they brought plates for only four people. When we reminded them again, they came back after a long delay with only two more plates & some spoons, & in the end one person still didn't have a plate.
When the main dishes were served, they didn't know which dish belonged to whom, & their attitude was not appropriate. (It was not a busy day.)
I hope this issue will be addressed & the service improves.
Today I grabbed a sangak & took it to Maman Sadi Restaurant. I asked them to put it under the kebabs - & wow… you guys seriously missed out! With fresh basil & onions, that combo was next level.
Big thanks to the whole team - everyone's super friendly & polite, & they really know what they're doing. & the kebabs? Absolutely top-notch.
With due respect, this review is based solely on my first experience at this restaurant.
Unfortunately, the quality of service & the way customers were received & attended to were not satisfactory, & there were noticeable shortcomings in the way the food was served.
Considering that in many Iranian restaurants offering complimentary bread, butter, & tea is considered part of the hospitality culture, the absence of these items was notable.
Additionally, the pricing did not seem consistent with the quality & level of service provided. For example, charging $35 for Ghormeh Sabzi does not appear reasonable in my view.
Great food. Persian & halal.
One of the best in Montreal.
A bunch of persian ladies working there so you know the food will be good.
We are visiting from Miami, Florida, & stop by for some good Persian cuisine. The place was nicely decorated , a great ambience & lots of small thoughtful touches. The food was absolutely amazing & the service & the staff were extremely friendly & welcoming. We had a lamb shank & the vaziri combo which again were both outstanding & combination platter for the appetizers were just as good. Highly recommended this place to anyone visiting
My friend & I tried the lamp shank, Barg, Kashke bademjan & sholezard. The food & the vibe were good. The waitress was really nice & welcoming but she said the main dish comes with soup but she didn't bring any (Maybe I am wrong or she just forgot). I wish they were serving Sangak instead of pita. Also I wish the Barg was less salty & more juicy. I really recommend that they put better photos on their menu & more descriptions & details as it sounds confusing for non-Iranians. I recommend this place & will try again. But I hope in my next visit they don't forget the soup.
We were seated quickly after arriving but on a busy Saturday night on Valentine's day, please ensure to have enough staff to cover all your tables. We had to wait a long time to receive menus & never received water until we were almost finished eating
Despite a busy night, the food was very good. We had the koobideh & saffron chicken but it was not as hot temperature wise as I would've liked.
Consider plating the protein & the rice together so it doesn't crowd the table & can be brought out all at once.
A great family owned shop with amazing fresh food. They have amazing kebabs & they have a wide price range for their meats. There's a reason why this place has such good rating.
C'est très délicieux, c'est ma troisième fois que je viens ici. La nourriture ici est très authentique
Ordered via Uber, Maman Sady was really tasty & had that authentic flavor. It's a bit above the usual price range in my opinion, but you can definitely tell in the quality of the rice, the saffron flavor, & the meat they use. The dish I ordered (Gheimeh nesar) would be best accompanied by a side like plain yogurt or their garlic yogurt! My Canadian partner loved them too & he's picky with Persian food! Merci Maman !!
One of the best Iranian restaurants in Montreal. Lamb shank & koobideh are the best
Amazing experience from start to finish. The food was delicious, the staff were kind & attentive, & the overall vibe was fantastic. One of the best restaurants I've tried recently.
Went there a couple of months ago & honestly amazing food, decor & staff. Was seated with my friends beside a Persian family & was extremely happy when I got complimented for having a great pronunciation.
Good choice when I'm nearby & want a solid meal.
Wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to come eat here if you live further away.
Based on the reviews & attention this restaurant has been getting, my expectations were super high for this place.
It was good but didn't exactly meet my expectations.
Definitely my favorite Persian restaurant when I go come to Montreal. The Vaziri is amazing & so is the Kashkeh Bademjoon. Will visit this place regularly moving forward.
We had a lovely Sunday lunch here with our grandparents & toddler, & the experience was flawless. The staff were incredibly gracious, friendly, & considerate, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
The restaurant itself has tasteful decor & a wonderful atmosphere. It's quiet enough to have a proper conversation without shouting, & the tables are spaced far enough apart that you never feel cramped-even with a larger group.
As for the food: it was amazing & the portions were very generous. A lovely surprise was that the mains included a complimentary soup appetizer, which was delicious & a very thoughtful touch.
Beef Stew: Traditionally prepared, beautifully presented, & so flavorful.
Koobideh: This absolutely blew my mind! It was a huge hit with our toddler, too.
Shrimp Rice: Simply out of this world.
We're already looking forward to our next visit!
Yesterday I ordered for pick up half hour later when I got there still working on it. After got my food for what I ordered two skewers of koobideh two skewers of chicken & two skewers of bath & one only one tomatoes for pick up. For $166 I was hoping at least the food is good which far far away from being good the barg kabob was like eating a piece of plastic & chicken uncooked & receiving six tomatoes & small onion & parsley which was rotten onion. So is not true 20-30 for three people is like $75 for pick up now I have no idea how much to sit there & eat. Food wasn't good service was terrible & price was too high don't eat there is just too much
A great Persian restaurant with authentic, homemade?tasting dishes, warm & attentive service, & a truly inviting atmosphere. A place that feels both delicious & welcoming.
