Had dinner here after a day of driving from Toronto. The table was cozy. Atmosphere nice. Bustling even. Service attentive & prompt.
We had a dozen oysters & the burrata to start. Very good with the house cava.
Both decided on two of the specials.
The arctic char was delicious.
The lamb pie was excellent. I mean perfect. The crust light & flavorful. The meat & gravy cooked perfectly. Seasoned perfectly.
Don't know how we managed to have dessert. But that was also great.
An excellent meal.
Last October, while traveling in Canada, we had dinner at Liverpool House. It was a meaningful road trip with my husband & my elderly mother, who is close to eighty, & we were very much looking forward to this meal.
We arrived around the start of dinner service & the restaurant seemed quiet. We were seated in a small back room with a bar. The food was good & our server was kind, so the meal itself was enjoyable. However, it felt strange that such a popular restaurant was so empty, & during our entire meal, that back room remained almost vacant.
As we were leaving, we passed the main dining room & were surprised to see it completely full. We had made an early reservation, yet were not seated there, & no other guests appeared to be directed to the back room. It left us with an uncomfortable feeling that perhaps we were seated separately because we were Asian & dining with an elderly woman dressed rather modestly.
At the time, we let it go. But recently, seeing the receipt for a meal that cost over $500, along with a generous tip, brought back that uneasy feeling. I am leaving this review because I have never had a similar experience in New York & anywhere, which made this feel especially strange & upsetting.
Great restaurant with an incredible atmosphere on the west end of Montreal's city center. Our server was wonderful & gave great advice on food. The specials on the menu all seemed deliciousn - this is the kind of place that only being able to visit it once won't do the entire menu justice. This seems to be a reservation only place, at least one weekends - you may be waiting quite a while if you walk in expecting a table. Definitely worth it!

Welcoming from the moment we entered. The service was fit for royalty. The lobster spaghetti delicious. The hanger steak a bit stringy. The Basque pumpkin cheese cake divine. Always the service deserves six stars. After a while it got crowded & very loud. Glad we came early for a great experience. Thanks to Louise & Taylor as well as others.
As a stand alone restaurant, its not terrible. When compared with Joe beef, it comes lacking. Hence the overall 3 stars rating.
Food was good, service could have been much better. The background music was way too loud, especially with how busy the place was.
We had quite a large spread & were able to try many items on the menu. The food was good but not great. Disappointing having spent $480. The service was overall great except one of the waitresses being odd & pushy. Glad we went but would not plan to return.
I dined here on July 12, 2025 so my review is quite late. The staff may remember because when I told them the name of my reservation they made fun of me & were like'Gary's here guys, table for Garyyyyy. Gary???' I thought it was hilarious & so did my gf.
Anyways the atmosphere in the summer was amazing. Seated outside around the ferns on the back patio. My gf & I had an outstanding dining experience. Had a very nice bottle of quebecois wine. Enjoyed some corned beef croquettes, the pickle salad, some delicious zucchini, this chicken & clams dish & the steak frites. Finished off with a basque cheesecake & this really refreshing vanilla ice cream & strawberry sorbet dessert that really hit the spot on that extremely hot day. My gf was very thankful I ordered that ice cream in that moment, it came in pretty clutch.
Our server was awesome, very helpful, chill & attentive. He looked like the son of the hotel concierge in home alone 2 & I found that pretty funny. Yeah this place was amazing, we loved it.
