Afficher toutbrunch(72) breakfast(62) egg(34) coffee(27) recommend(25) pancake(20) cafe(18) cheese(16) canton(14) fresh(14) latte(13) benedict(13)Great atmosphere, super friendly staff that was clear about setting expectations (kitchen was short staffed so food took longer than usual). The scrambled eggs with asparagus & goat cheese was outstanding.
I've been visiting Le Cartet for years, often choosing it for brunch or lunch due to its proximity to my office. It used to be a reliable spot with good food & coffee. However, my recent experiences have been disappointing.
On my latest visit, I ordered a salmon bagel, expecting a satisfying meal. Instead, I received a dry bagel with four minuscule slices of salmon( about 20g ) & a smear of cream cheese. This underwhelming dish cost me $20 before tax. Adding two lemonades & a coffee brought my total to $58, excluding tax & tip. For such a price, the portion & quality were unacceptable.
While the staff remains friendly & welcoming, providing service with a smile, it doesn't compensate for the declining food quality & inflated prices. It's disheartening to see a place that once offered value & quality now fall short on both fronts.
In the past, dishes like Le Canton were enjoyable, but given the recent downturn, I'm hesitant to return. It's unfortunate to witness such a decline in a place that once held promise.
Weird scrambled eggs with cheese- the texture was gross. Very overpriced. Charged extra for pancake syrup- pancakes were dry
I tried the Santé & my wife got the Nordique. Both dishes were very good & I loved the goat cheese pesto on the Santé. Smoked salmon bagel was quite good, although it didn't have a very smoky flavor. While I enjoyed it very much, I have to give it a 4 star for the price (paid $60 CAD before tax for 2 people). It is quite expensive, & prices are getting closer to a more upscale French restaurant, but the ambiance of this restaurant doesn't match a fine dining experience. Many of the tables are long with bench seating shared with other customers. It was very loud as well & hard to hear someone across from you. I still liked the look of the restaurant & the waitress was very friendly, I just think prices should come down a little for what you get.
Went in for a breakfast, a bit "school cafeteria" wibes from seating perspective but food was great (took a pulled pork grilled cheese) & the staff was super friendly. Would definitely go again to check out other breakfast options :)
We really enjoyed this delightful little bistro/market. Our server was delightful. I forgot to take pictures. My scrambled eggs with asparagus & goat cheese was quite delightful. I would do it again for certain. My husband also enjoyed his croissant with ham eggs & cheese. Not much ham on the sandwich tho.
Very delicious breakfast! We tried their pancakes & eggs with asparagus. Both are fresh & delicious! The pancake has a unique flavor of having a strong milk flavor. Not overly sweet. Our friend's grilled cheese with duck confit was delicious too. The vibe was nice & service efficient.
Nice place to grab a simple meal. Ordered a ham & cheese croissant for breakfast. It was well done. You can stop at the coffee bar or have a sit down meal.
Great food, amazing service & a pretty good atmosphere overall! The breakfast skilled was delicious & it was lots of food! So be warned. Aperently the grilled cheese is also fantastic!
Found this place & wooo! The coffees are so good! I picked the "Santé" brunch, the goat cheese pesto was to die for. Service was smooth & so welcoming 😊 Can't recommend enough
Amazing breakfast!! Do not miss this place. I had eggs blended with goat cheese & asparagus & it melted in my mouth. My partner got the pancakes & they were sooooooo gooooood. The graham crumble in the blueberry & maple sauce were just a beautiful & scrumptious touch. Server was excellent. Loved the ambiance. On my way out I acccidentally bought some of their house-made chocolate. One is a gift for me & one is a gift for my mom, if I can stop myself from eating it before I see her.
Everything was phenomenal! The attention to detail was noteworthy. The menu is small, which ensures that each item is perfected. Delicious eggs Benedict (with ridiculously delicious roasted potatoes), as well as a goat cheese/pesto/spinach toast with poached eggs & a dessert of yogurt, granola & fresh fruit. Earl Gray tea served with steamed milk (a small but thoughtful addition for the tea obsessed).
Open cafe with great breakfast. The scrambled eggs with asparagus & goat cheese was delicious. Lots of cafe drinks to pick from as well!
the experience was fine. nothing crazily wow but everything in the goat cheese scrambled eggs tastes good. very good service tho & stylish interior atmosphere.
Been there with friends for brunch! Pulled pork grilled cheese was good! The coffee as well! We liked the boutique, grab & go options on this section of Old port, genius!
