Got food poisoning here. I would really question their food quality & hygiene after this bad experience. This is not the first time, & others have had the same experience here. Beware.
I'm writing this review to advise others about how confusing game nights can be at this location. I live nearby, so it's usually my go-to place when I feel like watching a game.
In the past, I was told that there are no reservations for the bar section & that it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Because of that, I came early specifically to request a booth so I could secure the table I wanted. However, when I arrived, I was told I couldn't have the booth because it was reserved - which contradicts what I had previously been told about not being able to reserve those tables.
The hostess then said she could gladly give me another table. I mentioned that I was there to watch the game, which is why I wanted that specific seating area. I ordered my drink, only to find out afterward that I would have to leave by 6:30 because they needed the table.
The manager came over & explained there had been a misunderstanding, but that I still needed to leave because the table was reserved. As a result, I had to quickly finish my drink & leave.
I place the responsibility for this situation on the manager & the hostess. The waiter, however, was very nice, polite, & even excused himself for the situation - kudos to him.
Unfortunately, this experience left me with a bittersweet feeling about this location.
Friendly, efficient service. Large screen for watching sports but blasting modern country music. My cocktail was delightfully strong but unbalanced in flavour; my friend found his fish tacos mediocre.
Mon mari & moi adorons venir à la cage! C'est notre restaurant sportif préféré! Nous faisons même la fête à notre fils toujours à la cage! De plus votre salade césar est TELLEMENT trop bonne! La meilleure que mon mari & moi avons mangé! Votre soupe à l'oignon aussi la meilleure! Surtout c'est la cage qui a la MEILLEURE AMBIANCE!!!
I visited La Cage - Brasserie Sportive at Complexe Desjardins yesterday with my sister. I ordered the Blitz Burger & also had the 8 free wings from the promotion after a Montreal Canadiens win.
Unfortunately later that night I became very sick with vomiting & diarrhea that lasted into the next day. I can't say for certain what caused it, but the timing after the meal was concerning. I hope the restaurant reviews its food preparation & handling.
I was staying at the DoubleTree & originally spotted La Cage while walking around at night to enjoy the light festival. I noticed it was absolutely buzzing back-to-back two nights in a row, so I knew I had to come back & try it on my second day. It definitely lived up to the hype!
The vibe inside is fantastic-electric, high-energy, & the perfect place for a night out. I will say the food is a bit expensive compared to what you'd find at similar spots in Toronto, but honestly, for the atmosphere & the experience, it didn't even matter. Everything we ate was delicious.
A huge shoutout to our server, Julien, who was excellent. I also loved the efficiency of the place; it doesn't seem to matter who specifically takes your order because the whole team is on it-several other servers were helping bring out our food & checking in on us. If you're in the area, don't miss this spot!
je suis allé à la cage le samedi 28 fevrier aux alentours de 16h, l hotesse ne m'avais ABSOLUMENT PAS prévenu que les tables etaient réservés & que je pouvais rester pour une durée limitée. J ai donc consomer ÉNORMÉMENT (car il faut savoir que a la cage les prix ne sont pas les plus bas) & lors de la consommation de mon dernier Bloody Caesar un serveur s approche de moi pour me dire que il me reste 10mn pour terminer mon bloody, interloqué je dis que la 1ere serveuse ne m avait ABSOLUMENT PAS PRÉVENU de ça, le serveur insiste en ignorant ce que je lui ai dit. 10 mn apres le serveur previens le propriétaire (un gars qui cherche a s affirmer tant bien que mal...) me dit qu il est tant que je parte l, refuse de se presenter, refuse de me donner son prenom & appelle la sécurité comme si j etais un fugitif ou un gros voyou. La sécurité s esr excusé au nom du restaurant la cage & meme la police n avait pas compris le comportement du gerant. je me suis senti insulté & humilié lors de cette soirée! Heureusement que certaines personnes ont été là pour adoucir la situation!

Un classique, toujours un agréable moment.
En revanche, l'uniforme des jeunes filles au bar & à l'accueil soulève un réel malaise. Des robes très moulantes avec les jambes nues, portées par des employées mineures, dans un contexte où certains clients adultes se permettent des regards insistants.
C'est gênant & inapproprié.
Un établissement de cette crédibilité peut certainement faire mieux & adopter des choix plus respectueux pour ses employées.

Bon service & assez rapide, le personnel travaille en équipe. Nous n'avons manqué de rien. & les plats étaient chaud. Un peu bruyant mais ca reste un bar sportif. Notre serveuse était attentionnée.
