I sat at the bar & was welcomed extremely well. Great food accompanied by great service from Tony. He has an impeccable knowledge of the menu & gave me perfect recommendations. I would definitely come back again!
Such a cute ambiance, the blue fin tuna tataki & the fish in the rainbow roll were super fresh! This place is worth a try & I'd highly recommend a reservation if you go on a busy night
The staff was lovely & attentive yet super busy like all places. We did not mind the wait as we were seated outside, for our check & had plenty of hot jasmine tea (delish) & our bellies & palates were joyfully content.
The menu was amazing & the choices plentiful.
The sake flight was superb & I would encourage all to sample this delight.

Been there 3 times, food is consistently good especially the sushi.
However the service at lunch time is really slow - the last 2 times I was there, it took close to 45 minutes to get our food despite showing up before the lunch rush. The waiter apologized, but there was no offer of compensation, & we didn't ask.
In my experience, it's not a great spot for business lunches.
My partner & I visited your restaurant while we were on vacation from Toronto, & lemme just sayyyyyy ERIC & JACOB were fantastic. We sat at the patio almost everyday, from the food to the service, dining there with them serving us was a delightful experience. Even the server assistants were so sweet, we felt comfortable enough to joke with them with our stupid jokes. We made sure to tell everyone in Toronto & in Montreal to visit your restaurant. We returned to Kyo Bar Japonais for the first time since before the pandemic, & it reminded us why this spot is one of our favourites in Montreal. The atmosphere is lively & stylish, with a cool vibe that fits perfectly in the heart of Old Montreal.
We tried several dishes, & everything was excellent - but the grilled shiitake & pork belly were absolute standouts, packed with flavour & perfectly prepared. Service was friendly & attentive without being overbearing, which added to the overall great experience.
Kyo is exactly the kind of restaurant that makes Montreal dining so special. Delicious food, warm service, & a fantastic location. We'll definitely be back again soon!
