Kathy nous a servi toute la soirée! Elle a su bien nous suggérer les plats! Le tataki de thon, le unagi roll & le yaki udon sont à essayer! Nous sommes heureux d'avoir passé au kyo, c'est vraiment une belle découverte! Nous allons revenir c'est certain!
Nous sommes allés au Kyo pour notre soirée de Saint-Valentin moi & ma copine, ayant reçu un certificat cadeau pour cela. Ce review provient d'un client qui ne mange jamais dans ces braquettes de prix, autant pour dire nous n'aurions pas pu y aller sans le certificat cadeaux, donc nous étions particulièrement excités. Je dirais que notre expérience était en majorité positive, mais des points importants étaient fâcheux. Nous avions prix le 30 makis choix du chef à 65$ & ils étaient bons...mais très cher pour une qualité correctes, rien d'exceptionnel vraiment. Mais le moment un peu irritant étaient quand nous avions commandé le tataki de thon par la suite de nos sushis, & qu'on nous a apporté un tataki de boeuf. Les erreurs ça arrive, mais le serveur fit un commentaire insinuant que c'était notre erreur...alors que ma copine est pescovégétarienne (ne mange pas de boeuf, porc ou poulet). Finalement le tataki se présente mais, pour 23$, ils étaient franchement moyens, baignant dans une mayo épicée, on ne goûtait que celà vraiment. Ça n'en valait pas le prix, mais cela est mon opinion. Mais le staff était gentil en majorité & nous ont bien guidé dans le menu malgré ça.
Je dirais donc que c'était une expérience plaisante, mais trop cher pour la braquette de qualité que nous avons eu.

Such a cute ambiance, the blue fin tuna tataki & the fish in the rainbow roll were super fresh! This place is worth a try & I'd highly recommend a reservation if you go on a busy night
Kyo Bar, c'est validé. Tout était hyper bon, le service allait à la vitesse lumière alors que le resto était blindé, & mochi sur le gâteau, après qu'on ait rabâché 10 fois à notre serveuse que leur sauce était incroyable, elle nous a offert un pot à emporter. Queen. 👑
Seuls hics : les toilettes sont pas vraiment le spot Pinterest de l'année, & le tataki de boeuf aurait pu passer un coup chez le boucher pour enlever un peu d'épaisseur. Mais à part ça, rien à dire ! 🙏🤌👏
Élisabeth was very delightful & was very helpful for choosing our menu & wine pairing. We had the wagyu gyoza, the rainbow & the beef & maguiro tatakis, plus some sashimis. All very tasteful
The food here is exceptional, & the ambiance sets the perfect mood for either a date night or a fun girls' night out. The space is intimate with dim lighting, giving it a moody, inviting vibe.
We kicked things off with the Wagyu gyoza, which was absolutely delicious, followed by the perfectly seasoned takoyaki, each bite filled with a generous chunk of octopus. The fried calamari, paired with a side of spicy mayo, was crispy & flavorful. The bluefin tuna tataki, served with ponzu & jalapeno, was a standout--bursting with umami flavor.
We also tried the chef's choice of 7 nigiri rolls, & each piece was an absolute delight. To wrap up the evening, you must order the yuzu donuts, which come with a sesame condensed milk dip. The combination was mind-blowing--an unforgettable way to end the night. Highly recommend this place!

Really great experience the waitress Meaghan was so nice! Been here before but was really disappointed when we ordered the yuzu donuts. They were so small & not as big as before so very dense & not fluffy. It was one of the best desserts & now it's just bad. Everything else was amazing! Especially the tataki marguro!
I like this izakaya very much. The ingredients are very fresh & prepared with care. I especially recommend the tataki maguro, which has a rich texture & unique taste. The sashimi & sushi rolls are also very good. The waiter was very busy during the weekend dinner, but this did not affect the high quality of service. The food portions were not very generous, & we had to order a second round. Overall, it is a 5-star experience.
Phenomenal food & overall experience! Abs recommend the Rainbow sushi & TATAKI MAGURO (tuna + jalapeno). Mocktails were superb! Top spot for sure. Service was great, accommodating & fast!

Great Japanese spot! Waitress was pleasant & knowledgable, plus the food was yummy! Recommend the beef tataki, the sushi & the yuzu donuts! Will be back soon
Food is outstanding - some of the best sushi we've had anywhere & unique share plates as well. Don't miss the tuna tataki or the calamari - squash croquettes were awesome too. We'd go back for sure. Service was fine, but didn't quite live up to the food.
The quality of sashimi was fantastic, so great to have access to good sushi in Montreal. My kids ordered sushi via Uber eats which was really good so we decided to try in person seeing as even the delivery was good. The team were really friendly & helpful. We had the short ribs, pork belly, maguro tataki, assorted nigiri & some maki rolls (these weren't the superstars), we tried all the desserts & the warm beignets were the best 😍 the photos don't serve well as the lighting was dark, we definitely would come back if we were local! thanks for an amazing dinner!

Très bon service par Elisabeth! 💗 Bonne nourriture, mais riennà se pitcher dans les murs. Nous avons pris les Gyoza Wagyu, 2 rouleaux de sushis, tataki de thon (très frais) & beignets en dessert. La qualité des poissons est A1, mais niveau boeuf, je trouvais la qualité moindre (nous avions pris les sushi crabe épicé & c'était bien, ceux avec les sashimis de boeuf étaient difficiles à mastiquer). Les beignets sont un incontournable. Aussi, nous avons pis la dégustation de Whisky ainsi que de Sake. Super interessant. Ils offrent aussi la dégustation de Gin. On va y retourner c'est certain! :)
went for a birthday, had the pork belly(SO GOOD) & salmon tataki very refreshing first time having tataki, 2 martinis for a total of 85$ without tip. Our waitress was super nice, patient & helpful. portions are a decent size a bit pricey but its normal considering its in the old port
What a gorgeous food experience & date night. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with the old stone walls, understated elegant Japanese decor & warm lighting. The service was impeccable. The food was to die for. I completely forgot to take a picture of the main meal which was the chef's choice of 30 pieces of Maki. But it was just as beautifully presented as the rest of the food & the restaurant, but also was super delicious! The tuna tataki was to die for. Good prices. 100% recommend Kyo Bar Japonais!
Amazing food. Beef tataki melted in my mouth. It was full of flavour. We also got the snake rolls & chicken karage - best one I've ever tried. If you're visiting Montreal put this on your list
