I feel the pork loin Japanese katsu is pretty good & classic to the original taste in Japan.

This place brings back memories of Saboten Japanese Restaurant from China ten years ago. The ingredients are fresh & delicious, & the portions are very generous. The service is also very attentive & useful . The only downside is that the sauce is a bit on the light side. It costs around $6 for an additional serving. The salad is free.

There's a complementary soup that goes with every meal. I got cheese balls as an appetizer, which are satisfyingly crispy with a melty center. They taste surprisingly sweet, & comes with a sauce that tastes like ketchup. The Japanese pork katsu was good. It is a good portion, with two cutlets, perfectly crispy. The sauce tastes like ketchup too. The service was good despite the restaurant being busy when we went. However, there is no air conditioner or fans, so it was extremely hot since it was so packed & it was about 30 degrees Celsius outside. I personally wouldn't go back for this reason.

Amazing place! I ended up going twice within a week because I kept wanting to try out more of their menu items. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys korean & japanese fusion. Every order comes with a serving of their udon soup which also tastes amazing.

We arrived & were seated right away. We were served a pitcher of water & 2 cups. Not too long after looking at their menu through a QR scan, our orders were taken. We got the Takoyakis as an appetizer, Japanese Chicken Katsu, Pork Curry Katsu, Ginger Ale Highball & an Asahi. We received our drinks a few minutes after. Then we waited a good 40 minutes before getting anything. We watched as the other tables before us get served so we just kind of counted down by seeing who was there before us. Finally got our food but after waiting that long, we were saying how it really wasn't worth the wait. My japanese chicken katsu was... ok, portion was big. I did think that it could've came with a little more rice & slaw. My girlfriend's pork katsu didn't come cut so she asked for a knife to cut it herself. My highball was diluted from waiting so long. Halfway through our meal, our waitress initially asked if we received our takoyakis but I heard her ask if we ordered so I said yes. So after a few minutes, I told her we were still waiting & we cleared up the confusion & got our takoyakis (after finishing our main dish) They were delicious. Bigger than usual & the crunch was great. Oh & they kept moving tables around to seat customers but we had to keep moving our tables to give them space. Honestly, did not like that + we didn't get any food at that point. I think it would've been'okay' if we got our takoyakis first then our meals instead of waiting 40 minutes for our main dishes & having our appetizer served later. Also, the people who were seated after us received their food a lot faster than we did. Overall, the food is good but service time & organization is a mess. I would rather make katsu at home to be honest.

I was a bit sad that the previous restaurant that occupied this space was gone but at the same time my husband & I were very excited to try the food here. The place was packed & there was a bit of a wait but we understood that we had come during its peak hours. It actually didn't take too long before we were seated & we pretty much knew what we wanted from looking at the menu while waiting. But it there were a lot of people so it took time before the waiter came to take our order. I ordered the Japanese style fish katsu along with a house lemonade while my husband & his friend got the pork loin katsu & each ordered one of their whisky cocktails. Water & a complementary soup was brought right away & we chatted as we waited for the food. Finally my husband & I got our respective orders but for some reason our friend, who had the same plate didn't get his for a long time. At least we finally had our drinks. The waitress asked if we wanted more soup & we accepted but again for some reason our companion did not get his soup. So we waited with him & by the time his plate arrived our food while still warm was no longer hot. The food was okay, it was a good portion but not quite what we had hoped for (my husband loved katsu when he was in Japan it was not quite the same). My fish the batter was nice & crispy but difficult to get the tartare sauce to stick to it. I seemed to have a smaller portion of sesame seeds compared to my husband andbour friend so that when I crushed it it was all stuck the the grooves of the bowl. I had to scrape the grooves to loosen it into my sauce. I think the main disappointment was the drinks could have been served while we were waiting for the food. But the atmosphere was good & the appetizers the tables next to us did look interesting. I might go again but sadly my husband will not.
