sauce(58) cheese(46) chicken(42) udon(40) pork(39) soup(37) recommend(31) curry(30) japanese(28) crispy(27) sweet(27) rice(26)Portions are super generous! Pork loin was surprisingly juicy. Even after reheating (takeout), it was not too dry. Pretty good if you're craving for katsu. Not the best, but not bad. Would recommend!
Exceptionally delicious, mirroring the authentic taste experience I encountered in Japan.
If you are looking for authentic Japanese tonkatsu in Montreal, Katsuya is one of the few places that actually gets the crust right. It is crispy & fluffy rather than being dense & hard, & most importantly, it isn't greasy at all. My only minor complaint is that the breading tends to fall off the meat quite easily. The pork itself is okay-not dry, but not particularly juicy either.
The service is very friendly, which makes up for the atmosphere. The interior is a bit dark & feels a little run-down, so it's not exactly'cozy,' but for the decent price point, it's worth it. I will definitely be coming back!
Food was delicious & filling, super comforting & warm. Love the pork tonkatsu with curry & rice. Very generous with the portion. Highly recommend, will return
Très bon. Portion enorme pour le prix. Jai ramener la moitier de mon repas a la maison pour le lendemain.
So delicious. Got the regular udon & it was filling. No pork in this one. They give out small soups as appetizers too, similar to a miso soup.
Parfait endroit pour manger du poulet katsu ! Nous avons adoré nos plats & le service était impeccable. On y sert aussi de la bière. Nous allons y retourner!
The food was very tasty & fresh. We both ordered the Katsu curry & one drink each. It was a little pricey for 2 people but heyy we had left overs for lunch. So no complaints 😜 I might go again to try the red carbonara Katsu dish. The service was quick & the experience was pleasant.
Just go, don't think twice, stop scrolling, go now!
We ordered:
- Katsu Udon
- Chicken Curry Katsu comes with Rice
Tip -> Make sure come in hungry, portion is huge
Le pire service que j'ai vécu de ma vie on a attendu 1h & on a toujours pas eu nos plats il favorise les commandes Ube
i ordered the curry loin kastu for take out & received a tiny cup of curry that was barely filled up halfway & also tasted off:/
very pricey for 2 gulps of curry 🤨
Katsuya has been on my'Want to go' list for years & on end of February, me & my friends decided to go give it a try it. I really loved their Japanese Katsuya chicken & karaage! Super crunchy & sweet-salty sauce balances the flavours. We ate during lunch period so it was nice & peaceful that we're able to have conversations, & service was quick. Prices is roughly $16-$22 depending on what you get. I recommend coming here with friends or a quick lunch/dinner, as it's fulfilling!
The udon was delicious, however the katsu is quite average. The service was lackluster & slow.
Best katsu I've had in Montreal. Light, tasty, generous portions. 5/5 ⭐
Service was great too. Fast, efficient, & to the point. I appreciate a place that doesn't make staff do the awkward small talk thing!
My boyfriend & I have been looking for a good katsu & udon place in Montreal ever since we left Korea. We each had their udon katsu combo. The second we tried the udon we had such a wave of nostalgia. The price was reasonable & the food was amazing.
Came here for lunch today, & it was pretty delicious! Great crispy texture & juicy with a nice portion. The girl with glasses gave us also an excellent service! I'll be coming back for sure!
