Service was good, very friendly & attentive staff. Nice ambience to enjoy warm summer days with good music. Food was okay. We were lucky to arrive at a time without having to wait in line.
Jardin Nelson in Montreal is an absolute gem! I had the canard du confit crêpe, & it was simply divine. The duck was tender & flavorful, perfectly complemented by the delicate & crispy crêpe. The dish was beautifully balanced, with the rich duck filling blending harmoniously with the other ingredients. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience-sitting in the charming garden courtyard with live jazz music in the background made for a memorable meal. The service was friendly & attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. If you're in Montreal & looking for a unique & delicious meal in a beautiful setting, Jardin Nelson is a must-visit. I highly recommend it!
The place is super nice with live jazz music. Also the servers were very nice. However the food was really not good. I had the avocado toast which was soggy & unseasoned. The poke bowl was not sushi rice nor was it seasoned & barely any sauce. The pizza was doughy & just not that good. So as a place to have a few drinks fantastic, food not so much
The place is great, nice live music, lovely decoration, food is good, order basic drinks because there are not the greatest at making cocktails. Overall, I would go back! Just keep in mind that you have to make a line that takes a little while
Great place in Old Montreal. The food was excellent & the drinks were perfect! Especially on a warm summer evening. The lemonade really hit the spot! The crepes were delicious, in particular the smoked meat crepe. Combining two of my favourite Montreal foods in one! The restaurant's decor & ambiance is something special. You can either sit out on the front patio, or in the back in the outdoor garden. Both great, this time we sat in the garden. It's so nice, there are tables on different levels, there are huge umbrellas & awnings to cover from the sun, & there is amazing live jazz music. It was such a nice place to spend the evening. Service was very good too. Our server, Alexandre, was awesome! Looking forward to our next visit there!
The duck crepe & the duck pate chinois were very delicious. Our waitress was very nice & helpful. The ambiance was great with the live music as well. Definitely recommend!
Had an amazing experience eating here. Had my first poutine, paired with their specialty liqueur coffee & they were delicious. Ambience was great. Good interior & accompanying jazz music made it better. The service is a bit slow but it's because of their humongous popularity. This is the case of suffering from success I guess..
Amazing atmosphere! Live jazz music by really talented gentleman. Service was fast & friendly. Food was delicious too. We got appetizers for the most part & we loved them. We got the tostada de mariscos, the shrimp on the appetizers menu (don't remember the name but they were a favorite) & the cartier salad. All 3 were to die for. Food was so good I didn't take a picture lol
Everything was amazing, the meals, drinks & the service !!! Food took some time to arrive but totally worth it!!! I do really recommend this place, compared with others around this is the best I've tried. Live jazz music it's awesome.. it makes the atmosphere feel so good & chill
Nice atmosphère...good & smily servent..musical brand ... delicious food ..tried saumon poke...chicken Burger ..tacos..pizza..beer etc...
If you're going to old Montreal - you gotta eat here! Live music, vibrant atmosphere & excellent food. We all really enjoyed this wonderful restaurant.
This was one of our favorite restaurant choices during our visit to Montreal. Good gluten-free options, gorgeous patio & vibe, great service. They're known for their crepes & offer a gluten-free batter. They also have a gluten-free menu to clearly show options, & our waiter was very knowledgeable & helpful about dietary restrictions. Most of the sauces are not gluten free but I enjoyed the main course crepe I chose without a sauce. Though the cheesecake dessert crepe we shared wasn't nearly as good. They don't take reservations & get very busy, so be prepared to arrive early or to wait for a table. We arrived 20 minutes before the restaurant opened & stood in the line that was already forming. We didn't know about the back patio beforehand but followed the crowd in front of us in choosing a table on the back patio, & it was by far the best seating. It's a*really* beautiful space & there was live music during our lunch. As we left about 12:30 pm, every table in the restaurant was full & there was a very long line of people waiting to be seated.
This is such a lovely restaurant with live music in the old port. It is always very busy, so I would recommend planning your time accordingly if you have plans afterwards. I chose the beef tartare & my friend chose the ribs which was quite flavorful. We also had the litchi sangria which was very refreshing!
Gotta go here for a nice boozy brunch! There is always fun jazzy music playing & the Sangria is incredible (recommend both the watermelon & the lychee)
We went in as a group of 5ppl. We were 5 ladies. We knew that we would have to wait a while however we waited at least up to an hour or more for our seats. When everyone who was standing in front of us got there seats we still had to wait an extra 30mins until I asked the hostess how much longer we were going to have to wait. After 2min another hostess said she found a table for us on the terrace & that she was going to prepare the table for us . As she left the hostess that I was talking to seated us in the worst seating & placed the group behind us on the terrasse. Pretty unreasonable as we waited much longer than all the ppl ahead of us. Mind you we saw multiple groups of 5 leaving & also going in ahead of us. Our waitress was great. I had the American Pizza & it was delicious with the special sangria which was a delight. The Jazz music was certainly the right touch for the atmosphere. I would recommend anyone go there, I understand the popularity of this restaurant & the wait time but I don't think the hostesses treated us reasonably this time.
Our second time here.It was a very busy weekend so instead of lining up at the front we opted for the terrace. There was literally no wait for the terrace & you still get the same food/music as sitting inside. Great place for a good meal or just some quick bites before catching a show at the Cirque du Solei. The duck confit putine we ordered was delicious.
We loved this gem! Very cool outdoor seating area with live music at lunch. We enjoyed salmon lasagna & seafood crepes. Quick friendly service
Jardin Nelson is one of the best restaurants in Old Port Montreal. The food is amazing. If you get a chance to visit, sit on the back patio. The music & atmosphere is top-notch. https://www.foodnfashion.tv/home/jardin-nelson
