Plutôt déçu dans l'ensemble. Surtout au vue de la note générale qui est pour nous beaucoup trop élevée. Nous avions été recommandés par des amis & sommes amateurs de restaurants gastronomiques. Je dirais que c'est un bon restaurant, mais trop de petites incohérences ont rendu l'expérience globalement décevante.
À titre de comparaison, plusieurs adresses à Montréal surpassent largement ce niveau dans cette catégorie gastronomique pour un même rapport qualité/prix.
Le menu dégustation nous a semblé mal conçu & manquant d'harmonie & de cohérence. Les assiettes, bien que jolies & soignées visuellement, manquaient souvent de goût & d'assaisonnement. La première assiette au thon, par exemple, n'avait pratiquement aucune saveur, malgré une belle présentation. Nous avons ressenti la même impression au fil du repas. Le pain était également trop cuit & surement pas frais du jour, dur & élastique.
Le dessert, en revanche, était selon nous le mieux réussi de ce menu.
Le tasting menu était excellent avec des produits frais du terroir. Les accords IP qui allaient avec les plats étaient sur la coche. À chaque fois qu'on vient, le menu change, les vins aussi ce qui fait que l'expérience est 10/10! Je recommande 100%
Amazing food, we got the tasting menu with the wine pairings. The plates were unique, great presentation & even better taste. I tried hard not to lick the plate LOL. The sumac spritzer cocktail was interesting. The wine pairings were so-so. A couple of interesting ones but I think that's one area that they can potentially improve. Service was top notch, friendly & on time but not in your face. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is great, & the atmosphere outside on the street, well let's just say it's entertaining. We watched a whole police pullover of a car & search of their trunk while sipping wine! Overall, highly recommended & will definitely be back.
Had a delicious lunch here. The tasting menu was incredible! They had options for vegetarians & pescitarians & were accommodating. The service was friendly & extremely knowledgeable. Our server was the gentleman working the Saturday lunch. Would recommend to friends & family!
We came up from Ottawa to Montreal to celebrate our 2-year anniversary, & after seeing so many great recommendations, we decided to try this restaurant. It was truly an unforgettable experience! Even though we're not drinking alcohol right now, we still love fun, creative drinks. The bartender went above & beyond, crafting a special drink that paired perfectly with one of our dishes. Every member of the staff was incredibly friendly & brought so much fun energy to the night-it made the whole experience even more memorable. At the end of our meal, they surprised us with some mocktail shots, & we all shared a toast together! The food was out of this world-each dish was bursting with flavor. We couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate. Highly recommend!
Recommended by a HoMa local. 5 course fix prix $80 with $65 wine pairing. Worth every penny. We've had wine pairings at other restaurants that missed the mark. At Heliocoptere the wine was diverse & perfectly paired. Servers were friendly, funny, & polished. They easily accommodated all our dietary requests: one friend gluten free, another pescatarian, & 2 different allergies. All meals were outstanding.
We found this gem on Eater & several other food sites & it was well worth the trek across town. The only reason I gave a 4 for atmosphere was that despite an empty restaurant they shoved us in a corner of the bar for our meal ( which proved to be a trend in Montreal not sure if it because we were American or didn't speak French) it would have made for a lousy experience if it weren't for Cedric the bartender who mixed us up a fabulous cocktail & entertained us throughout the evening. The meal itself was fantastic. A really wonderful blend of seasonal flavors that it would be hard to say which dish was better than another- we loved them all! The chef is very talented!! We highly recommended this spot & wish them the greatest success!
I had a wonderful dining experience at Helicoptere. The food was delicious, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service & professionalism of the staff. From the moment we sat down, the team took the time to explain each dish in detail, helping us make the best choices based on our preferences. Their knowledge & passion for the menu made the meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was lovely, & the overall experience was fantastic. I'm giving it 4 stars because while the food was great, it was the impeccable service that truly made the evening special. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who appreciates attentive & knowledgeable staff!
