Even with a reservation (9pm), we wait for 50 minutes to get our table which is inacceptable for a high end restaurant. The meat & the quantity was good for the price but the quality of the service was not what I except for this type of restaurant. It was quite loud & the tables are big because of the bbq so not ideal for an intimate dinner. Overall, I would not recommend.

I had a great experience at Hana Korean Steakhouse. The food was fresh & high quality, especially the grilled meats, & everything was well presented. The atmosphere felt cozy & modern, & the service was friendly & attentive. I'd definitely go back.
Hana Korean Steakhouse feels like a fusion of Okeya Kyujiro's top-tier omakase experience & Gyu-Kaku's grill-your-own-meat concept. They're both my favorite restaurants in Montreal & Hana offers a more premium take on Korean barbecue, while also featuring its own Omakase menu.
Hana is easily one of the most unique restaurant experiences you can find in Montreal & a very high recommend. Coming from someone that's visited a ton of restaurants across the city, if you're a fan of meat & simple but very tasty meals, this is a must to go.
I can't comment too much on whether the Korean part of the cuisine was authentic or not, but whatever the case is, it was absolutely delicious.
The staff & customer service was excellent as well. We were served by the floor manager that was not only managing reception & overseeing all the tables, but also serving us personally. We couldn't have asked for a better service & she did a fantastic job of accommodating us.
The restaurant has both a bar & normal table seating (I believe up to 6 per table) & the menu has three'categories' of options: a normal menu where you can order a set meal, an Omakase menu with a wide variety of tasting menu items & a fixed menu of a bunch of meat options (with side dishes). You can combine all of the above or add extras, but in all honesty, it's more then enough food if you took an appetizer & one of the above.
My only two small complaints:
- The dessert was a little disappointed as I was hoping we would get a premium/unique Korean dessert, but instead we got a simple scoop of ice cream that had a weird strong citrusy favor.
- The noise level at 7h PM on a Saturday was ok, but as the night continued, the rest of the guests got extremely loud. I wouldn't be shocked if the later crowd is more rambunctious, so time your visit in terms of what you're looking for. If you want a romantic evening, the earlier the best & I would avoid anything past 9h PM.
Finally, some reviewers mentioned slow service, but please note that this is NOT your traditional restaurant. The staff not only needs to wait tables, but also cook part of the meal live in front of you. It's completely normal that this experience will take a while, so don't expect a quick/cheap meal where you'll go in & out in less then an hour.
P.S.: I hope they open up for lunch in the future, as I'd pass by with coworkers or Saturday quite often!
Food was good but service was terrible. For example receiving our cocktails after starters after following up many times, & they arrived with the staff not even saying sorry for the delay. By then the meat had started cooking so we were ready for wine. Had to get the attention of waiters every time we wanted something & had to ask repeatedly as they seemed to always forget. High prices (400$+ for 2 persons), would expect outstanding service.

I had such high hopes for this restaurant! But sadly was disappointed..
Service was very good ! Nice decor & vibe.
Enjoyed the cocktails but not the food.
We had the chefs selection, & I was VERY unimpressed with the meats. The price was also quite high 500$ .. & we left feeling that the money was not well spent . To be transparent, I asked some friends who recently dined here & both couples said the same thing !
Really nice vibe. Meat was good. Sides alright. But the service ooofff. Nice staff but it took us 45 min to get seated even though we had a reservation. Got comped 4 oysters. Not an acceptable consolation prize for waiting that long. Also had to keep asking multiple times for certain sides. Maybe they're just getting their groove but for the price I'm paying $$$, this was not worth it. Won't be coming back if this is the standard to be expected.

We went to Hana tonight for an early Valentine's Day dinner after spotting it on TikTok & wow, 10 out of 10. The vibe was immaculate & Oliver's service truly made the night. He remembered our names & was incredibly warm & personable.
We did the choix du chef experience & would absolutely recommend it. We were worried it might not be enough food but by the end of the courses we were completely full. The cuts of meat were unreal & the pairings were thoughtful & well executed.
The only small note is that the dessert on the tasting menu was a little underwhelming but still delicious, but you are not coming here for dessert anyway.
We had a course meal.
Each cut of meat was paired with its own garnish, & every bite felt like a complete dish in itself. The servers were attentive & kind, & despite being a barbecue restaurant, there was hardly any smoke or lingering smell.
Even the à la carte dishes showed a level of care & refinement that you don't easily find elsewhere-clearly reflecting the chef's thoughtful approach. The atmosphere was elegant with subtle Eastern influences.
I highly recommend it for a special occasion or a celebratory dinner. I'm confident you'll feel truly well taken care of.
We were treated to an exceptional dinner with impeccable service.
Came here during their first week of opening. We tried the chef's selection that came with some appetizers, different cuts of beef & a jigae with rice & some banchan for 115$.
The staff cooks the meat for you so you don't have to do it yourself. The meat was perfectly cooked & was nicely enjoyed with the paired ingredient such as truffle. They also served some condiments on the side for the meat to be added according to taste.
The dishes were good & the different cuts of beef were very tender, but the overall items in the tasting menu were a bit underwhelming & don't justify the price. The dessert, shrimp toast, oyster, soon dubu jigae & the banchan tasted pretty ordinary.
The evening was a bit chaotic. We waited a very long time between the services. However, they opened not long ago so it's understandable that they might need more time to adjust.
The inside is fancy & well ventilated. You don't smell like korean BBQ afterwards.
Although I enjoyed the experience, I'm not sure I can justify coming back & paying this much for the food I got.
Sunghee is the owner's wife. They manipulate reviews - it's absolutely ridiculous. Don't be fooled by these reviews. Don't waste your money at this restaurant. The meat quality is terrible & the service is a mess.

Don't waste your money here - they aim for high end with ridiculous prices, but the meat is subpar & the service is mediocre at best. Also, they manipulate reviews using friends' or family members' accounts.
