Review Summary

Flamme du Sichuan earns praise for delivering authentic Sichuan heat and bold, vibrant flavors, with diners highlighting generous portions, a lively rustic interior that evokes street stalls, and a strong focus on hospitality that elevates the meal. The staff are frequently described as attentive and helpful, guiding guests through a complex menu and suggesting balanced pairings to temper heat with cooling sides. While the food generally impresses, some dishes are noted for being extremely spicy or overly salty, and lines or long waits on busy weekends are common since reservations are limited. A few reviews mention dietary concerns or spice customization, but the overall impression is that Flamme du Sichuan is a standout Sichuan option in Montreal and many visitors plan to return.

Unique decor & style. Located in Montreal downtown, in a location considered by many as the Second Chinatown. The staffs are nice & the food are quick.
BUT, the level of spice is from another world. Sichuan cuisine is freaking spicy. & the restaurant will test your level of spicy resistance. Even a simple salad dish has more red (chili) than green color....

Good Sichuan dishes with good quality & quantity. Restaurant decorations are traditional Chinese style. Sometimes need to wait for half an hour.

Amazing! So pleasantly surprised, it was excellent, delicious & gracious service. The 45 minutes wait for dinner was worth it. The place was crowded, the decor made us feel like we we were in the Province of Sichuan

The best spicy Chinese restaurant in Montreal. Besides disliking plastic decorative plates, which are considered unhealthy.

Well, I have to say it
Probably the best & most authentic sichuan restaurant we have in montreal
A little bit long line, but if you can get in from the first 10 tables , you should be ok
Personally we waited from 11😅& luckily there only 1 group of 3 waiting ahead of us
The decor is very old fashion chinese street restaurants vibe, almost feel like a museum
The staff welcomed us in very passionately & friendly & seated us
Offered apron as well as hair band for the long hair girls (which you may keep)
We ordered both dessert, which both are very good
As main, we ordered zi-gong style stir fried chicken (boneless) + spicy frog
I would say the chicken is so amazing that I can't stop eating it 🤤? even all the vege that inside the dish are so flavourful
The frog taste almost like spicy fish, & the zucchini in there just such a nice touch
Totally worth going, only if the line up is not too crazy 😅

The interior decorations & the liveliness of the place really makes you feel like you are eating at a restaurant in China out on the street & I really enjoyed that atmosphere. The problem is that the restaurant is really popular & that they do not take any reservations. You have to go in & give your name & phone number & they will call you back when a table is available. However, the wait time is usually around 2 hours on the weekend which is quite a lot. The service was great. The waitress was patient & attentive. They took the time to explain us their menu & give us their recommendations & also explain to us their level of spiciness. The food itself was quite fantastic. The food is indeed spicy, especially if you choose to go with the full spice, but the spiciness is a great addition to the flavours of the dish & not overwhelming the rest of the ingredients. The prices seem a bit elevated when you take a look at the menu but the portions are pretty large which does make up for it. I do feel like it's an amazing place for a larger group to share a lot of different dishes & just enjoy the food together.
