Review Summary

Flamme du Sichuan is widely praised for authentic Sichuan flavors, delivering bold, sometimes extremely spicy dishes with large shareable portions that suit groups looking to try many items. Favorites mentioned include the tomato and egg dish, the pea shoot with crispy pork soup, beef tripe and tofu, fried tofu, shredded potato, fried chicken with chili, and kong pao chicken, with udon or other textures noted as appealing touches. The atmosphere is lively and rustic, evoking a Chengdu street stall, and the interior design adds to the authentic vibe. The restaurant is very popular and lines can be long on weekends as reservations are not accepted, though many feel the wait is worth it. Service is consistently described as friendly, helpful, and attentive, and spice levels can be adjusted; portions are generous but a few dishes are criticized for being over salted or for lean meat portions. Overall, it is considered one of the top Sichuan dining experiences in Montreal, a must try for heat-loving diners, even if a few items vary in authenticity or price.
