Found Fish Bone had the Black Miso Cod & gave it a try. We were not disappointed. Perfectly cooked & such a delicate sweet flavor. Paired well with a seafire roll & white wine.
The floor to ceiling windows, antique plank flooring, minimalist furniture, & the 70s soul soundtrack give this place a cool comfortable vibe. As someone who is hung up on details, I appreciate that. Nothing is out of place here. The bus stations are perfectly organized. The furniture candles, glasses, flatware, etc. are symmetrically arranged.
The menu is bursting with creativity with interesting takes on Japanese sushi bar classics. There was also a selection of steaks & seafood options.
I was taken back by oysters that were served topped with fresh raspberries. It was a great idea. The acid from the raspberries worked as a subtle mignonette & paired well with the subtle brinyflavor of the oysters.
Black cod served with green beans & grilled white asparagus. Everything is perfectly cooked & seasoned.
Staff was cordial, attentive & interactive without being intrusive.
The negative reviews make no sense to me. It seems any past issues have been rectified. I've been in the business for several decades, & I can say that they hit every mark.
Cod & octopus were excellent. Excellent service staff who made a knowledgeable wine pairing. Expensive but worth it. Met anothet couple outside who were dissatisfied. They ordered sushi. I say if you want sushi, go to an asian sushi restaurant. If you want good cooked seafood, then this place is worth the visit.
