Eating well in Montreal has become increasingly challenging: high taxes, rising costs, & inconsistent quality often affect the final result. Unfortunately, my experience at Milos reflected exactly this.
The atmosphere & service were excellent-friendly staff & attentive care. However, the food did not live up to the restaurant's reputation. The starters, a cabbage salad with cheese & a small octopus dish of just eight slices, were disappointing for the price.
The main course, lobster with spaghetti, was the real downfall. The lobster tail was already emptied, giving the unpleasant impression of a decorative shell. When I cut into the head, a green paste spilled out, ruining the dish. The sauce-heavy & clearly made with tomato concentrate-overpowered the natural flavor of the lobster, which was rubbery & overcooked.
This approach strays far from true Mediterranean tradition, where seafood is enhanced with fresh ingredients like fresh cherry tomatoes & light preparation. The result was a visually appealing plate with none of the authenticity a food lover would expect.
Paying nearly $400 for two starters & two mains felt excessive. The Milos experience in Montreal does could justify its price but not the reputation, especially for those seeking genuine Greek culinary excellence.
Always a top tier dining experience at Milos. Every single appetizer, main course, side dish & dessert I have ever tried on their menu was delightful. The quality & freshness of the fish/seafood is evident, & the preparation & flavours of each dish are remarkable. The decor is elegant, & the ambiance is sophisticated & inviting. The waiters are gracious & very knowledegable ; service is impeccable! Milos ranks amongst the greats of Mediterranean cuisine, for good reason, & is undisputably the best Greek restaurant in town.
I recently had the most amazing dining experience at Estiatorio Milos, & I can't stop raving about it! The food was bursting with flavor, each dish a delightful surprise that danced on my taste buds like a culinary masterpiece. The cocktails were equally impressive, perfectly crafted & refreshing, making my evening feel even more special. Our waiter, Jerry, was simply outstanding; he guided us through the menu with his impressive recommendations & made us feel like VIPs all night long. The atmosphere was just exquisite, with beautiful decor & a lively yet elegant vibe that made the whole experience unforgettable. Honestly, I can confidently say that Estiatorio Milos is one of the greatest restaurants in the world, & I can't wait to return!

What truly sets this restaurant apart, however, is the service. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, & genuinely passionate about what they do. A standout among them is James at the bar-an absolute gem & arguably the best bartender in town. His creativity, charm, & mastery of mixology elevate the entire experience.
What A Restaurant is the kind of place you look forward to visiting again & again. A perfect 10/10 every time. Highly recommended.

J'ai pris le saumon pour la table d'hôte du midi à $45, & il goûtait tout aussi bon que ce qui peut se faire chez soi, rien d'extraordinaire. La glace est également bonne, mais ne représente une portion inférieure à une boule. Pas fan fan de la pieuvre grillée dans la purée de pois chiche.
Pour $45, on en a pour son argent, mais c'est tout. Ça vaut le prix pour pouvoir essayer le restaurant en tant que tel.
Excellent food, portions for lunch are perfect, very simple but beautiful decor, service can be a little better, but maybe because it was busy that day for lunch. Great place for lunch or dinner.
My wife read in a Toronto paper about the owner of Estiatorio Milos who has a number of restaurants around the world. I was scrambling for a place to celebrate a substantial wedding anniversary, & I managed to get a table at Milos. Firstly, everything is true that you've probably heard about Milos. That it is a first rate restaurant. That the food is a cut above the rest. That the decor is perfection. That the service is impeccable. & it is. & maybe that should garner them 5/5, but for me, they're not pushing the envelope. The taramasalata was possibly the best I've had. The frittered zucchini & eggplant is delicious. The bread & olive oil is very good. The octopus was extraordinary. If you don't read this review further, I'd suggest just getting a huge selection of tapas, which are broad an varied. Where it starts to fall down for me, is that it's just a little too perfect. It's precisely what you expect, & nothing more. Nothing less, but nothing more. The service is excellent, maybe just a little too perfect -- & when the server warmed up, it was great. But I did have to ask for a second bottle of water twice from the back waiter. The main dish we ordered was a little disappointing. It was halibut, which suffers from a lack of flavour generally, & in my opinion needs a lot of work to make it interesting. On the other hand, it did represent precisely the way halibut is, & it was subtle with a lovely tomato that had turned into a nice coulis. But it needed more flavour to my taste. The rapini was good -- nothing special, just good rapini. Frites were good -- needed a little more work. So this is a place which presents precisely what the food is, in its most elemental form, & that does require some level of respect, which I definitely give. However, this is 2024, & while it would have been mind blowing in 1979, this is just excellent. & that's where, for me, the fault lies. I wouldn't hesitate to take clients there, because it is renowned, expensive, fancy, & excellent. But in 2024, there are just too many interesting alternatives in Montreal.

To round off the meal, the desserts are a must-try. The baklava was an exquisite blend of flaky pastry & rich nuts.

Excellent food, very professional service! Went to this restaurant a few years back as a family of four & while the food was good, we felt we were treated indifferently to the point where I called & spoke with the owner then never returned. I am giving 5* now because I was invited back by a good friend & regular customer of theirs & this time I have only great things to say! The food was excellent & the services was professional with no slight whatsoever. The atmosphere in general was fabulous, love the decor, especially those large Jugs. I am happy that my friend convinced me to try it again, it is nice to be left with a good taste in my mouth!

Le meilleur restaurant en ville. Le service est incroyable & le décor est sublime. Pour ce qui est de la nourriture elle est fraîche & simple vous ne tomberez pas par terre en découvrant des nouvelles saveurs, mais les goûts sont classiques & le service est hors norme.
Beautiful Mediterranean (Greek) restaurant, ambiance, service, staff & food was exceptional. Extremely fresh ingredients & worth every penny spent. The decor & set up in every part of this location is most simple yet elegant & tasteful. I highly recommend this place, whether in family, couple, friends, even if it's for just a drink & an appetizer or two. The bar area allows for seating & dining as well.

Nous sommes allez avec ma femme dans ce restaurant dont la réputation n'est plus a faire... Un beau décor, un service impeccable, cependant la nourriture certes bonne & fraiche n'était absolument pas ce a quoi je m'attendais pour un prix pareil, nous avions commander en plat principal un poisson grillé (un vivaneau par défaut car peu de choix)...
En résumé un très beau contenant pour un contenu trop simple pour justifier un prix si élevé...
La prochaine fois je me fais un bon poisson au bbq chez nous & je garde les 200$ pour me faire un autre bon restaurant.
