Classic diner vibes with solid, comforting food!
We came here for a casual meal & were pleasantly surprised by how hearty everything was. The smoked meat sandwich was super generous with thick, tender slices - juicy & full of flavor. Definitely one of the highlights!
The spaghetti with meat sauce was simple but satisfying, & the garlic bread was crispy & buttery, just the way it should be. The French onion soup was rich & cheesy, & those potato pancakes on the side were golden & crispy - great with the sour cream.
Nothing fancy, just good old-school food that hits the spot. Great place if you're in the mood for something filling & unpretentious.
Very good smoked meat experience. Roughly comparable to Schwartz's in terms of quality, with a fraction of the crowds. Service was quick & the servers were attentive. The sandwich was spot-on, but the fries were a bit stale.

Dunn's is Dunn's , historic & legendary . I was surprised the corned beef meat on the sandwich was very dry, so much so, I had to spread the mustard on heavily. I've had the sandwich before, many times, & never had this experience. Overall, a good feed at an iconic Montreal eatery....I'll go again for sure!!
Outstanding smoked meat sandwich 👌 I personally recommend getting it medium (vs lean) as the meat will just melt in your mouth 🤤 also, I didn't get the combo as an 8 oz sandwich is more than enough for everyday adults 😉 highly recommend to anyone looking for the real deal!
If you are looking for the true Montreal smoked meat sandwich experience. This is the location . It is exactly as I remember it from many years ago. Fantastic!

Delicious smoked meat sandwich. I would go for the large next time over the aptly named'petit.' Still hit the spot. Quick & friendly service, sports bar vibes, can see how this place got'famous!'
I found the smoked meat bagel to be dry. I've had more juicy meat at other spots. My table really liked their meal but it was also their first time trying smoked meat so they didn't have anything to compare it to. They did however put a lot of meat in everyone's sandwich.
Service was a little slow.
Fantastic meal. The sandwiches were just how I remember. Huge, tender, flavourful & juicy. The staff however are extremely rude & dismissive. Good thing I wasn't there for the service. It's the place to go when in MTL.
I really like a smoke, but when I am in Montréal, I go to Dunn's Famous for my smoke meat fix. Great atmosphere & service. I had the super combo, smoke meat sandwich, fries, & coleslaw. Everything was excellent on my plate. I recommend Dunn's Famous.

We ordered the Reuben platter & Smoked Meat platter. Top notch flavor, fries were awesome, latkas were a nice touch as optional side.
The smoked meat was very good, moist & melting in the mouth. We rank the Reuben as better than the MSM sandwich but both excellent. Our only minor complaint would be to lightly toast the bread for the smoked meat sandwich. It was soggy & fell apart far too easily with the juiciness of the smoked meat. The rye on the Reuben fared much better.
Atmosphere is classic Montreal deli style. We loved the energy & vibe of the room. Dunn's on the lampposts is a nice touch. Classic rock playing at the right volume. Service was swift & cordial.
Just a very warm experience all around. Will visit again for sure. 4.5/5.
Easily the best smoked meat I've ever had. Not overly salty but still adequately seasoned & succulent. Don't underestimate the size of the sandwiches as the smoked meat comes in a generous stack! The poutine was okay, but the root beer (racinette) was too sweet for my liking. Excellent service & food arrived very quickly.
