A must try for all tourists!! This place lives up to the hype & it's a perfect place to try all the well known food of Montreal!
The sandwiches were huge & the poutine was perfectly stringy.
Service was extremely fast too!

My office colleague who is originally from Montreal suggested me to go there during our trip to Montreal. The place was good & the food. We ordered smoked meat sandwiches & some drinks. Yes, the sandwiches were delicious & I liked it. But the fries should have more salt. I didn't enjoy fries because of that I think my other two buddies as well. If you are someone who used to add salt to your food you better ask them to add salt to their fries.
Other than that the customer service & the vibes were amazing. The prices are a bit high (40+ including one drink) but it is okay.

Great spot when you need comfort food late, I know there are lots of arguments about best smoked meat, but on a cold night that sandwich & matzoh ball soup were exactly what the doctor ordered

Came here for dinner with my wife & we both went straight for the famous smoked meat sandwiches; best decision ever. The meat is unreal: so tender it literally melts in your mouth, with that perfect savory smoky punch & little pockets of sweet fat that make every bite heavenly. Seriously, I've never had smoked meat this good anywhere else in the city. Service was fast, friendly, & super efficient even though the place was busy. Fresh rye, great mustard, huge portions, & worth every penny. If you're craving Montreal smoked meat, this is the spot. Already counting down the days until we come back!

Dunn's is a great standard in Montreal. The smoked meat sandwich's are awesome. I often wonder why people buy anything else when they come, but then again they do have a broad menu. But do get the smoked meat sandwich & a Dunns cherry cola - it's really the standard. Bonus points - if you order anything else, it is a slower service.

Staff were friendly & very prompt with welcoming you, taking your order, attentiveness. We weren't overly hungry but wanted to try Dunn's. We split the super sized Montreal smoked meat sandwich & split the routine. It was enough for both of us & it's was delicious. I can say that this was the best coleslaw (according to my taste)I've had in Montreal & I had coleslaw at 4 different places.

We loved our smoked meat Ruben sandwich with fries & a beer. It was so large that my wife & I shared it.
The multilingual staff prepared & served our order promptly. We liked the pub like atmosphere of the restaurant.

I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Dunn's Famous, & I can't recommend this place enough! From the moment we sat down, our waiter, Marvin, made the meal truly memorable. His service was nothing short of exceptional-friendly, attentive, & incredibly efficient. Marvin's warm & welcoming demeanor instantly put us at ease, making the entire experience feel personal & special.
Not only was Marvin quick to ensure our orders were taken & delivered promptly, but he also went above & beyond with his spot-on recommendation of the smoked meat sandwich (Reuben)
Let me tell you, it was a game-changer! The sandwich was perfectly prepared, with tender, flavorful smoked meat piled high, served with just the right balance of mustard & pickles. It's clear why Dunn's Famous is renowned for this dish-it was hands-down one of the best I've ever had.

My favorite place for smoked meat sandwiches. I visit it everytime I am in Montreal. They opened in 1926, food is nice & authentic.

The most amazing Reuben & Club Sandwich. The meat was juicy, moist & stacked high. The Club sandwich was more than anyone can eat.
They give you a Hugh pickle, coleslaw & fries. It is pricey but since I got two meals out of my order I was able to justify it.
The restaurant was clean with a nice ambience & service was good.

This place closes after midnight. We got to our hotel around 11pm, this was one of few options we had. & I'm glad we went there. Their smoked meat is hands-down one of the bests. We shared a smoked club sandwich, asked to upgrade our fries with normal poutine, Louisiana soup & french onion soup. Everything was delicious. Their smoked meat & french onion were amazing. I didn't care for it. I don't was it, but I have to mention that I never had it before, so I can't be a good judge of poutine.

A must have for your Montreal visit. Their smoked meat is absolutely delicious. It comes in a platter, wrap, sandwich, & more. Not overly filling, versatile menu, decent location, great atmosphere, pretty good pricing & scrumptious. What else is there to say?

Half the sandwich was fatty. Asked for lean. The French fries were soggy. The waiter brought new hot soggy fries. The latkas were meh.
Used to come here as a kid around 1:00am on St Catherine st for a hot hamburger platter.
The food has just gone down hill.
The fact they were busy just says that people don't know what good smocked meat & fries are.

Absolutely delicious! I had the famous sandwich & it truly exceeded my expectations - the meat was so tender it literally melted in my mouth. Every bite was full of flavor, & the portion was generous. The experience totally worth it, especially if you're visiting Montreal & want to try something local & satisfying. *Highly recommended* - this place deserves the hype. *Must-try spot* if you love classic deli flavors done right!
