This game is a recommendation from our hotel staff. We thought it was okay. The server was very friendly & nice. The food was nothing exciting. The hot chicken was good, I upgraded my fries for poutine fries. They were okay. The penne chicken alfredo was a bit tasteless, needed seasoning.
Great old school cafe atmosphere. They even have cherry cola tall boys. The smoked meat was juicy & oh so tender. The poutine was smoking hot & the curds melted into delicious gravy. There wasn't much of a line up & it moved pretty fast. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area.
There is a waiter at this location that truly makes the service wonderful, his name is Steve, find Steve! Amazing with kids, knows his menu inside & out, knows his town, attractions & is truly the first resemblance I've seen to top notch customer service in years!
Food, at a smoke house I went with the Reuben, it's loaded with smoked meats on rye bread with the fixings, simple but exactly what you expected & fills my bottomless pit just as expected.
I partnered the Reuben with the Dunns poutine & a beer.

The in house strawberry cheese cake was rich, but nice for the sweet tooth as I don't always eat much sweets. Finished the whole piece with the wife & wasn't left feeling over done.
Steve if you read this, you're solid, keep being you buddy.

Had the famous smoked meat sandwich & Italian poutine. Smoked meat was juicy & soft, good light spicing, served with a tangy pickle & super tangy coleslaw which I think cut through the meatiness really nicely.
Couldn't not try their famous strawberry cheesecake made on site, a nice tangy cheesecake with great creamy & fluffy texture, strawberry adds a nice fruitiness to it, however it was lacking much of a base… if it had more of one I would've rated it outstanding!
Went here for a late night meal. I was surprised to see they are open until 5am. I ordered Dunn's Burger & Italian Poutine, as well as a Sundae for dessert. I have to say... this was easily one of my best late night meals in a long time! Very pleased with the food & the atmosphere. I will be back.
This or Schwartz's? Followed the recommendation of a native of Montreal & tried Dunns. The smoked meat is delicious, just the right amount of tender, fat, & seasoning. The bread can't handle the meat but who cares! Lots of mustard, coleslaw & a dill pickle makes this an unforgettable lunch. & of course the poutine was Devine! Strongly recommend. No nonsense service & a staple of Montreal's food culture.
Excellent poutine & smoked meat! I also liked the table with the map of Montréal on it. I was able to sort out where my car broke down in 2024 & the location of the janky hotel I stayed at 😆
Montreal has been world renowned for it's fine smoked meat since the 1920's, when the first Dunn's opened. 🥪🍖
This branch has been opened since 2000 & couldn't be more downtown if it tried. Perfect place for comfort food before or after a Habs game, or after a night bar hopping on Crescent St.🍻
Last time we went I tried their smoked meat poutine & almost fainted is was so good. Great fries from real potatoes & Dunn's famous smoked meat served with delicious bbq sauce & curds.
You gotta be hungry though... the servings are copious.

Showed up at 4:10am & they told me I can not sit down even though others were dining in front of me, they only do poutine & smoked meat (takeout), & that I need to show up before 4:15am for the full menu? I corrected him (& showed him the time) & said actually I need to show up before 4:00am apparently.
Why did you lure me in advertising you're open until 5am? I feel scammed. Waste of my time & gas.
Came for some late night eats at an institution. The food was just what you're looking for, particularly the smoked meats & variety of poutine. Our server Steve seemed to be the only one working in the whole restaurant & was out there HUSTLING.
Je connais ce restaurant depuis des décennies & je le recommandais à mes amis en visite à Montréal. Je n'y étais pas retourné depuis quelque temps. Quelle déception! La qualité s'est beaucoup dégradée. Le pain, la viande, même le cornichon… tout était mauvais, plat, ordinaire. & que dire du prix! La première option est à 22$. Le sandwhich est offert en combo seulement, fini le sandwhich seul ni bien sûr l'option d'un demi-sandwhich. Pour remplacer les frites du combo par une poutine, il nous en a coûté 15 $! Au moins la poutine, elle, était décente. Le menu s'est beaucoup diversifié, le smoked meat est noyé dans toutes sortes de choses; une page entière est consacrée aux cocktails. C'est devenu un resto-bar pour les clients du Centre Bell. Seul le cadre a conservé son charme, le service étant tout juste correct. Bref, si vous cherchez un endroit pour déguster un authentique sandwhich au smoked meat, fuyez celui-ci!

I ordered the Reuben & a poutine, both were perfectly smoky & delicious! The staff were friendly & respectful, & the service was great. Highly recommend DUNN'S for anyone craving quality smoked meat.
